Phonebooth crowd has sucked even more this season. It's hard to get behind a team that has potential but is routinely outplayed, out-hustled and out-coached. They played like they were missing a leader and that is what crowds get behind. Gil may not have wanted that role, but he was the go-to guy in the past and EJ still has him in that role as was evident in the last two possessions...

brian, what Phonebooth crowds were good this year? I'm a Caps fan and there were some good ones. They definitely have some devoted fans who come out on a regular basis, but the crowds can still be lacking when not started by the Horn Guy. The playoffs, which I watched on television, sounded good but those games are a different beast than regular season games. I attended games throughout the regular season including two of the last three home games(missed one for a DC United game). I hope the atmosphere that last week is just the beginning of something. Too often emotion is frowned upon by other fans.
At least you said basketball, so I don't have to laugh at an argument for Georgetown games although a few NCAA games had their moments. :P
