Athletes and Obama: An Update

(AP Photo by Jae C. Hong)

It's been almost six months since I compiled very incomplete lists of which presidential candidates a bunch of athletes, owners and sports officials were supporting. Now that we've got nominees, figure I should update.

Since then, the "famous athletes supporting Obama" trend has clearly been further explored, with the Philly Inquirer, for example, getting lots of "we love Obama" tales from Philly athletes. We've seen an Obama column in ESPN The Mag, the Miami Herald talking to several Miami athletes about Obama and Tiki Barber expounding on the same subject.

Anyhow, presenting a new list of athletes and various other sports persons who've given to the two candidates, with the newer names on top.
