Morning Look: Cooley, Junior and Czarniak
The Redskins are fast becoming a Dale Earnhardt Jr. Appreciation Society. First Kedric Golston outs himself as a major Junior fan--despite that fact that Junior is not, technically, a Gibbs driver--and then longtime Earnhardt fan Chris Cooley does an extended TNT sit-down with Lindsay Czarniak and everyone's favorite soda-pusher, the only Junior more famous than John Feinstein. This Junior returns the favor by closing the interview with this: "I'd give up everything I've got to be Chris Cooley for a season, hell yes."
Wow. Whether 'tis a smart move to take a massive paycut in order to be physically battered by larger men while joining a likely sub-.500 team a likely Super Bowl-winning team based among Loudoun County strip malls and P.G. County takeout joints is perhaps a fair question for Junior, but the Redskins might as well give him a tryout. They seem to be a bit short on receiving options, and Mark Brunell is no longer hogging the number 8.
Also, with Chris Cooley and Caron Butler both having declared their loyalty to Mountain Dew, a three-way with Chris Cooley promising to live like a peasant for a year for a chance to play one-on-one against Butler can't be far behind. Read more at Shutdown Corner, where Cooley also details his blending into the media pack to shout a question at Carl Edwards.

Jon, the Vegas over-under for Redskins wins is 7.5, I believe. That's good enough for me, although obviously the NFL is annually filled with surprises. Still, if you want to make a career betting that Vegas has the wrong odds, be my guest.
But I don't want to be lumped in with JLC, so I fixed that passage. Thanks.

Dan maybe you are not as big a D-bag as i thought
your sub .500 comment just stinks of a shot at the Skins
i will admit that i am a Diehard Skins fan and it definately gets old hearing (after a playoff season) all of these backhanded shots coming from WaPo writers
BTW i only bet on things that i have some control over like golf and poker
i also think you do a good job with your blog
where did Vegas have the g-men last year?

Too many shots of Cooley and Earnhart, not enough of L-C.
