Morning Look: Wiz Draft History

Tonight, the Wizards will have a chance to add to their draft history, and a glorious history it is. The Wiz currently have four players on their roster whom they drafted themselves: Andray Blatche, Oleksiy Pecherov, Nick Young and Dominic McGuire, roughly speaking, the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th guys off the bench this past season.
Vlad Veremeenko, who might set an NBA record for use of the letter "e" in a last name, could still join these Wiz draftees. Devin Harris, the first-round pick in 2004, yielded Antawn Jamison.
Other than those names, your previous 10 Wizards draft picks include Peter John Ramos, Steve Blake, Jarvis Hayes, Juan Carlos Navarro, Rod Grizzard, Juan Dixon, Jared Jeffries, Kwame Brown, Mike Smith and Calvin Booth.
This year, though, will be different. Previous 18th picks in the draft include such budding stars as Gerald Green, J.R. Smith, David West and Oleksiy Pecherov. Our reporting has thus far indicated that Ernie Grunfeld will either trade up, trade down or keep the pick. Stay tuned.
