D.C. Media Golf Fashion Show
Every notes writer for every paper covering every golf tournament in world history has done at least one item of the golfer fashion. Usually, it involves the word "bright" in some fashion. Either that, or "retch-inducing."
But the next frontier of golf tournament notes sections may well be golf media fashion. Observe.
We start with the above image, of Comcast SportsyNet's Michael Jenkins and his plaid shorts. Bold. Daring. Different. Bizarre.
Then comes WUSA's Sara Walsh, who also chose the plaid shorts, but possibly went with a more muted color scheme. Also, her legs aren't the color of vanilla ice cream.
Moving on to WTOP's omnipresent Craig Heist, who is paying tribute to Foghorn Legorn. He said it was an homage to the late baseball executive Syd Thrift, who apparently spoke like the cartoon rooster. Either way, it's an inspired shirt.
At virtually any D.C.-related sporting event, you can count on Joseph White of the Associated Press to have the best hat, and he didn't disappoint today. Remember, kids, sunscreen and plenty of water can keep you safe over these next hot few days. Plus a hat like this.
And last but certainly not least is Chick Hernandez, the co-host (with Gary Williams) of Comcast SportsyNet's nightly Tee Time program. Chick has easily the best pants in the media center. They're striped, if you can't tell. No word yet what kind of pants Gary is wearing.
