Gilbert at Sony Style

(All photos courtesy of Belal Gardizi)

Take five.

Some blogs have made their mark with pictures of famous professional athlete doing borderline inappropriate things with comely young ladies in social settings. This blog is in the process of trying to make its mark with pictures of famous professional athletes awkwardly posed with excited young men at large retail outlets.

Previously in this series: Danny Suk and Caron Butler outside T.G.I. Friday's, John Park Williams and Clinton Portis at the Verizon Wireless store in Tysons, Eric Young and Gilbert Arenas at PF Chang's, David Han and Santana Moss at Ibiza. As always, e-mail me your best candid shots with D.C. sports icons, please, with any necessary explanation included.

Today's story is from Belal Gardizi, a 15-year old massive Wizards fan from Alexandria. Enjoy.

Ok, I was at Tysons just walking around, minding my own business. I'm headed down to Foot Locker talking on my phone. I look up for a second and I see Gilbert talking on his phone. So I just forgot about Foot Locker and I went following him. I see two other people following.

So we stop at Sony Style. I go in there and he's headed to the headphones. Well, I go up to him and I ask to take a picture with him. And as always, being so loyal to his fans, he said yes. So I just had a chat with him inside the store and so I'm headed out.

So outside of the store I see two really tall men headed my way, and I knew it had to be Wizards players. So I walked up to them and I saw it was Nick Young and Dominic McGuire. I shook there hands and said hi. So they then start walking. So again I follow them.

I see them going into Sony Style where Gilbert is. So I walk in and ask them to take a picture. Then after the picture, me, Gilbert, Nick and Dominic were talking about the paintball fight they had at Gil's house. Nick showed some of his bruises from the paintball fight. Now they remember me for that time.

I can't remember a time when this city was blessed with such an abundance of awesome, crazy, charismatic, and good athletes all at once. Arenas, Smoot, Cooley, Ovechkin, who else am I missing...Dan you are blessed with some pretty awesome material. Who needs "videos"?

Kevin Durant is this cool, as well. Maybe the city brings it out of the athletes.

So that's pretty cool. So this kid met some Wizards. So he wrote you about it. So when does WaPo offer him his own blog. So I think it would be cool. So it would be so cool.
