Morning Look: A Shot of Jamison

(2004 TWP photo by John McDonnell)
So your choices this morning were a disturbing, puffy-lipped look at Jack Kent Cooke's "Do you know who my dad is $1 billion goes a long way" spouting daughter Jacqueline, who managed to reverse the wistful-for-Cooke thoughts, at least for a day, or something happier. I went for happier.
Here's your morning shot of (Antawn) Jamison, from four years and three days ago, when he was introduced to the Washington media for the first time. Today he'll meet the media again (sans Susan O'Malley), having signed his next four-year deal, opening the way for Gilbert to stay in town with his nine-figure deal, opening the way for one more run at the Cavs in the first round Eastern Conference finals. And of course Gilbert went to the arena last night for a late-night workout, even as teams were offering to trade their entire rosters in exchange for his services. Where else would he go?
Luckily, the Washington Times has heard positive things from "a source very close with Arenas," while Ivan (close to 3 in the morning) reported hearing positive things from "a source close to Arenas." Considering he has no agent, there's a pretty small list of who these sources might be. Which means either Gilbert is staying, or he'll decide to parachute from a cliff towards logos of every team that's offered him, signing up with whichever logo he fails to land on.

Nice title...now I'm thirsty.
La Sooz looks akin to Suzy Kobler gazing up at Tom Brady.
In any case...it looks like we will be saying pay-cut, smay-cut....because $174 million to two players leaves nothing for additional help.

This is all setting up perfectly for Gil to sign somewhere else. Hope he doesn't, but it is too perfect to ignore.

One snotty heiress will do nothing to wash away any wistful-for-Cooke thoughts...not even for a minute. In fact I'd take my chances with Jacqueline running the team over Danny.

Good job concealing the cocaine, Jacqueline. I'm proud of you.

Ernie and Eddie both look like they've aged 20 years since this picture was taken.

Best news I've heard all summer. HUGE for the Wiz. I'm so glad they locked him up right away to show him that he's the leader of this team and the most important player for this franchise. Big ups to Ernie.
