Rocco Mediate and Domenic Mediate

Media star Domenic Mediate, watching Rocco.

The word in the media center was that Rocco Mediate had the biggest opening-shot gallery yesterday. Ten-deep, I was told, which was Phil- and Vijay-esque.

Of course, things didn't go so swimmingly for Rocco, and by the time I ran into him on the No. 4 tee, he was already a few shots over par. And yet two local TV stations following him around. Why? Well, because D.C. United midfielder Domenic Mediate, Rocco's distant cousin and a big fan, was following around his threesome, and dual pro athlete Mediates was too good a storyline to miss.

"Devon [McTavish] was gonna come," Domenic said, "but he decided to go golfing with his brother instead." Typical McTavish move.

Anyhow, Rocco teed off, and Domenic and his roommate and the camera crews moved down the fairway, and this guy pictured below remained on the tee. Khaki sports and white polo shirts? Please. THIS is called coming correct to a D.C.-based golf tournament. If I see anyone wearing Strickland or Gugliotta.
