Morning Look: Redskins Power Trio

You know, for the first year or so that I informally "covered" the Redskins (i.e. provided updates about their beards and tattoos), I had no idea what chief spokesman and Minister of Information Karl Swanson looked like. For some reason, whenever I read the name, my mind pictured Karl Rove.

We finally met this year, and he does not, in fact, look like Karl Rove. But when I told some friends about our meeting, a few said that, like me, they had no idea what he looked like despite often seeing his name in the media. And, in fact, if you do a Google image search on "Karl Swanson," you get pictures of a swimmer from Western Kentucky and "the top Botox & Restylane provider in the Tampa Bay area." Neither of whom look like either Karl Rove or our own Minister of Information, a former AP writer and editor and corporate marketing exec.

So, in the interest of setting your mind's eye straight next time you read a sunny quote from Swanson (for example, concerning the new FedEx fast pass lanes, "Many people would decide...'I'm happy to wait in line.'") the above picture shows Swanson, Vinny Cerrato and Daniel Snyder, a true power trio if ever there was one, driving gloriously into the future.
