Today's Top Five: It Could Be Worse
1) So maybe you've heard about yesterday's incident involving Post beat writer Jason La Canfora, Redskins bigshot Vinny Cerrato and various accusations and thought, wow, that's pretty bad. You're right. However, it could always be worse. Exhibit A: The San Jose Mercury News vs. the Oakland Raiders. (Awful Announcing)
2. What's the deal with Redskins OT Stephon Heyer getting flagged on the Devin Thomas touchdown against Arizona? (Mister Irrelevant)
3. NFL players are allowed to wear watches during games. I'd love to see Clinton Portis knock someone out/blind them with that bright yellow clunker. (Pro Football Talk)
4. David Beckham defines "persistent" on Sesame Street. (The Offside)
5. Reason No. 58334 why Canada is better (FanIQ):

That is a hilarious video. Seeing grown men play duck duck goose is just hilarious.

It was a big mistake by the NFL to ban team celebrations. Rather than cut down on poor sportsmanship, it's led to the ridiculous individual celebrations.
Duck Duck Goose is good, but I prefer when an NFL team (the Rams?) did the leapfrog.

since players play for money and highlights now anyways, wouldn't the reinstatement of team celebrations create an incentive for teams to score touchdowns, thereby creating a higher-scoring and more compelling product for the NFL?
of course, this would come with a caveat of penalties/fines for unsportsmanlike celebrations.

One Two Three Four. Canada deserves more.... money.
That duck duck goose thing was cool, but the CFL still sucks worse than... well worse than Heath Shuler.

PFT asked the NFL if Steve Weatherford would be fined for wearing a wristwatch. Clearly PFT has an axe to grind against Steve Weatherford, and should be removed from covering him in the future.
