Morning Look: Boyzzz in the Gator

To those who have charged me with ignoring D.C. United for, hmmm, like six months or so, guilty as charged. Problem is, there's this new style of football involving a pointy ball that you only rarely kick with your foot, and people around here seem to be interested in it. Plus, Ashburn and RFK aren't really in the same direction from my house.
But the thing is, D.C. United is playing our city's most crucial game this week, a home meeting against the New England Revolution tonight with the ESPN (2) cameras around and any realistic shot at the playoffs on the line.
And to mark the occasion, just in case you hadn't seen, here is Thabiso "Boyzzz" Khumalo during the teams' recent trip to Costa Rica. If there was a Pulitzer for "team sponsored blog photography involving strangely nicknamed athletes and inanimate reptilian sculptures," this would be, at a minimum, top three this year.

Thank goodness... I saw this thread title and thought that, in the wake of bolstering the Alabama/SEC connection with the Shaun Alexander signing, the Skins had added some more Gators to the roster.
Which led me back to the Ol' Ball Coach... *shudder*

Dan, if it's any consolation to your guilt, you've avoided a lot of anger and internet nonsense (the bad kind) by focusing elsewhere. Yours is a fun blog, and 2008 has not been fun for United.
