Vegas: Redskins Still Elite

As always, Vegas is slow to sway in the face of one bad week. The loss at home to Vegas's worst team was bad, no doubt, but the Redskins remain 7 or 7.5 home favorites this week, and the Las Vegas Sports Consultants rankings still says they're the fourth most powerful team in the world, tied with the Colts, and the second most powerful team in the NFC. (This is based on Tony Romo being injured, but still.)

While the Skins still have home games against two of the teams ahead of them (the Giants and Steelers), and while the Cowboys would likely be above them with Romo in hand, it still seems Washington could be favored in each of its five remaining home contests. The remaining road opponents (Baltimore, Detroit, Seattle, Cincinnati and San Fran) are all ranked 22nd or lower by Vegas, so it's still possible that the Redskins will not be underdogs again.

As for Bodog, I forgot to mention that last week, the site posted an over/under for how many offensive turnovers the Redskins would finish this regular season with. The number was 13.5. Congratulations if you bet the over.

Some more rankings from around the Web: says Washington is 5th, the Football Outsiders' math stuff says Washington is 5th, Sportsline says Washington is 7th, says Washington is 4th, the Sporting News says Washington is 5th, Yahoo! says Washington is 4th, while Fox Sports has yet to update their rankings.
