Redskins' Toughest Critic: KidsPost
When's the last time the Redskins were ranked this high, this consistently and this unanimously by the mainstream sports media? I don't know the answer. It's a poorly phrased rhetorical question. But the point is, nobody would dare complain that the 6-3 'Skins don't get no respect.
ESPN ranks the Redskins as No. 5 in the league, Fox Sports says they're fourth-best and our own Mark Maske has them ranked eighth.
After all, two of Washington's three losses were against the Giants and the Steelers, ranked second and fourth respectively by ESPN. Running back Clinton Portis is ranked second in the league for rushing, with 995 yards on the season. Without heaping mounds of praise on them, let's just say most of the sports media would agree that Redskins haven't looked too shabby.
But the KidsPost? No mercy. Fred Bowen's grades for the Redskins thus far (questionable grades marked with !):
Zorn: B- (! -- fan approval rating on ESPN is a healthy 88 percent)
Campbell: A-
Offense: C+ (! -- If you're weighing rushing and passing equally, maybe. But Clinton Portis is the offense.)
Defense: A-
Suisham: C (! -- He's been clutch more than once. And 18-for-23 ain't bad.)
Brooks/Plackemeier: F
Rankings can be influential. And they say the minds of children are like sponges. So it's safe to expect that the unofficial Year of Optimism for longtime Redskins fans will now be peppered with cynical, KidsPost-reading elementary schoolers.
Billy, 7: "Zorn needs to light a fire under the offense."
Jessica, 10: "Suisham is inconsistent."
Joey, 5: "We never should have drafted a &$#% punter."
[Note: Children and quotes may or may not be, but definitely are, fictional.]

I agree. Any time a 5 year old is cursing (rightfully so) about drafting a punter. He's spot on. Especially since we got a quality player like Horton AFTER drafting Durant.

Big ups for the 5 year old saying something worthy of &s, $s, #s and %s.
Durant Brooks may've been a waste, but I still feel the same.
Me so Zorny.
