T.O. Responds to Smoot Sports Bog Interview

Chalk this up under the "wow, two weeks is a long time to wait for one regular season game" category, but apparently buried in my interview with Fred Smoot this week was a mild suggestion that the Redskins had punctured the Cowboys' bubble earlier this season, which was pretty much true.

"A lot of pub came in with Dallas to win the Super Bowl this year," Smoot told me, "and we kind of exposed them that first time we played them, and now we're gonna get their best shot."

Well, apparently T.O. is a big Sports Bog guy, because yesterday he was talking about Smoot's comments.

"I wouldn't say they exposed us," T.O. said, according to the Dallas Morning News. "We just didn't play well. If you look at the situation and the score, we lost by two points. I think there were some opportunities that we missed. If that's the case, I can say we exposed them the last time we played them, when I scored four touchdowns.

"It is what it is. We're really not worried about what somebody else says. If he needs to say that to get himself hyped for this game, then so be it. We'll be ready."

Well, T.O, I appreciate the clicks. But honestly, I would say that Fred Smoot doesn't necessarily need to say something that's obviously true to a blogger with a rinky-dink video camera from outside a Sterling elementary school while reading patriotic children's books in order to get himself hyped for this game. I mean, maybe he would have been ready to play even if I hadn't shown up to ask him about Excroidinary Gentlemen.

(Unfortunately my editor snipped the part where Smoot was talking about his favorite children's books (really), because that's one of T.O.'s areas of expertise.)
