Matt Bradley Has His Priorities Straight

Do not like. (File photo by Preston Keres - TWP)

Fred Smoot may have been hit-or-miss on the field this year, but Redskins fans still heart him. Part of the reason has to be his willingness to launch into long speeches about just how and why he hates Dallas. I mean, he won't talk to his Cowboy-loving relatives during Dallas week? If you're a Redskins fan, and you hear that, your heart flutters.

Well, the Caps' Matt Bradley got the memo. He was on the Junkies this morning, and was asked which is his least favorite NHL road trip. His answer couldn't have been more pitch-perfect.

"I mean, personally, I don't like Philly," he answered. "Just because I don't like the team, so I don't like to go there. I'm sure it's a nice city...."

"Not really," Cakes interjected.

"....But I don't like those guys," Bradley concluded.

"Well, Pittsburgh probably sucks too," Lurch said.

"Yeah, I'm not a bit Pitt fan either, to be honest," Bradley said. "That's actually a good call. It'd be probably Philly, Pitt and, I'm trying to think who else."

"Well, let's be honest, Matt, I mean, Pennsylvania's the worst state in the union," Lurch continued. "So you put Philly and Pitt in there, you might as well kill yourself."

"Yeah, exactly," Bradley said.

Seriously, music to the ears of your typical Caps fan, right? So now I'm trying to decide whether Philly or Pittsburgh would make for a better first-round matchup.

The other highlight came when Bradley was asked to compare his own skills to those of Alex Ovechkin.

"You guys probably know basketball pretty well," Bradley said. "It'd be like comparing Michael Jordan to....The only reason I know this was because he was drafted by a Canadian team, but that Big Country Reeves. The guy that never really made it, he could barely run and stuff. That would be me, and Ovie would be Michael Jordan. That's the comparison."

We're going to face both in the playoffs. It's just fate. Hate fate.

It's a know fact for hockey fans in DC, NY, NJ, Boston, Toronto...basically the whole Northeast...we all hate the state of PA. They are the lousy drunk at the bar swinging a broken bottle.

I heart Matt Bradley. Not only for his comments here but because he is a Fan Favorite and he WILL score in the SO.

Now he just needs some tango lessons from The Donald (e.g., "don't lead with your chin") and his game would be complete...

Bradley is hilarious. He should have his own radio show.

"Matt Bradley has his priorities straight"

Maybe so, but more importantly does he have his POCKETS straight?
