Portis's Inaugural Plans: Charity Basketball

As we all scramble to secure our press credentials for the Clinton Portis/Antawn Jamison inaugural party, let's not overlook the Clinton Portis-Santana Moss inaugural charity basketball game earlier in the day.

The game's at Coolidge High, it's hosted by Lonnie Harrell, a.k.a. "Prime Objective" of the AND 1 Mixtape Tour, and it might or might not include a veritable who's who of people I've never heard of, including Grammy nominee Raheem DeVaughn, Anwar "Big G" Glover of HBO's "The Wire," DJ Quicksilva and Angie Ange of WKYS, Vernon Davis and Josh Morgan of the San Francisco 49ers and Brandon Albert of the Kansas City Chiefs; recording artists "Que" of Bad Boy Records' "Day 26," Wale, Don Juan and Tabi Bonney; mix-tape legend DJ Clue; and reality TV stars "Seezinz" (VH-1's "Flavor of Love") and Deangelo (MTV's "Making the Band"), and streetball legends "AO" and "Baby Shack."

More plans: Jason Taylor is scheduled to emcee the NFL segment of The American Music Inaugural Ball. Antwaan Randle El is a "special invited guest" for the National Obama Peoples Ball of Prince George's County. And legendary local sports figure Charlie Brotman will be the announcer for his 14th consecutive inaugural parade.

"Gramee nominee Raheem DeVaughn"

Oh, come on, Steinbog - you've heard of the Grammy Awards. And you've heard of Wale, since you did a blog post in which you interviewed him. Thou protesteth too much for the sake of bloggy ironic distance, methinks.

As long as I'm correcting this post, it should also be noted that Big G is primarily famous in the D.C. area for his leadership of Backyard Band. Keep it gangsta!

1. Big G is beloved throughout the Eastern seaboard.

2. You lost me at "Making the Band."

3. Tabi Bonney will have his vengeance. And put it in the pocket.

Stet - didn't mean to suggest otherwise re: Big G. He is like unto a god. Just noting that since this is the Washington Post that Steinbog writes for, there is a Washington-specific connection he might have wanted to enumerate. And let the beat rock.
