Frozen Four Concerned About Frozenness

And other things I've been meaning to link.

* "The Division I Men's Hockey Committee will have a conference call Thursday to discuss ice conditions at Washington D.C.'s Verizon Center, location of this year's Frozen Four. This comes following a Washington Post article that discussed numerous complaints that players from the Washington Capitals have made about the ice surface." (College Hockey News)

* "As far as me I do a lot of weird stuff but I would think the coolest and thing that pumps up everyone the most is I do air guitar to a Dragon Force song." (Collin Balester WaPo chat)

* The Redskins Caps hat. (Future Exclusives. See also, purple Caps hat and grey Caps hat, via Intern Boris.)

* Despite "What's a Terp" chants from the opposition, a Maryland recruit smashes a backboard, forcing a game to be postponed. (The Register Citizen)

* While that kid scored 47, Lance Stephenson goes for 50, with Gary Williams in attendance. (Zags Blog)

* Ovechkin picks Little E to win the Daytona 500, saying "Somebody told me that I was the most famous No. 8 after Junior switched numbers to the 88. I don't know about that, but I know he's fast, just like me." Sounds just like Alex. John Riggins picks the same. Russ Grimm says Kyle Busch or Denny Hamlin. (, here here and here.)

* Heath Shuler is shamed, in public, by someone named Manley. (Politico via Shutdown Corner)

* Ed Tapscott is losing it. (Truth About It)

* The StanSpeak translator returns. (NBC Washington)

Fantastic Four > Frozen Four

The ice problem at Verizon is not new and didn't just happen this year. Getting the NCAA Men's Frozen Four at Verizon is a big deal. Screw the NCAA with bad ice for the Frozen Four and see if the NCAA holds the Men's Final Four or any of the games in the Road to the Final Four at Verizon in the future. The NCAA does not have to be concerned about its relationship with Washington Sports & Entertainment so they can be real vocal if the ice is bad. We can only hope that this is event that the will help get the ice problem solved for good.

I believe someone did make that exact same hat with a curly W on it the first year the Nationals were in town. I saw a few of them at FedEx Field.

Personally, however, I don't understand the whole "team mash-up" gear at all.
