Jeff Teague's Dunk on Dave Neal: Adequate
I was watching Maryland's game last night, trying to figure out if the six-point lead off the 403 Dave Neal three-pointers would be an appropriate time to send out dozens of e-mails about how Maryland was a lock for the tourney. Instead, I just sat there on the coach. Then this happened. "Adequate dunk," one of my editors e-mailed me immediately. Hard to disagree.
It was an amazing turnaround, for Neal and the Terps. Just a few seconds before, Neal's dad had been hopping around like a Cameron Crazy in the stands, wearing his Garyland shirt, getting pounded on by friends. The announcers had been talking about how Neal couldn't stop smiling, how this was a Senior Night he would remember for the rest of his life. The cameras had been showing a poster about "Dirty Dave aka the Wet Bandit," which, whatever it meant, probably shouldn't have been on TV. And then, suddenly, this, and now we're remembering Neal's Senior Night for a different reason and we're filing this away with "games the Terps probably should have won."
Well, Neal still played a hell of a game, and the fans still love him. Guess that's what happens to YMCA guys once in a while. (Video from A11 voter Chris Chase at The Dagger.)

I was there. My statement after it happened, "dunk of the year in college basketball"
As a Xavier grad and Maryland fan - now I'm doubly pissed he picked Wake over Xavier. Good player.

I called my girlfriend after the game, and this dunk was the first thing I talked about. This video does not do it justice -- it seemed even more huge live.
