Wale to Caps Game

(Photoshop again taken from All Things Go.)

Wale, the DMV's favorite rapper and the musician most likely to use Alex Ovechkin's name in a rap, is going to his first Caps game tonight. It's being live-blogged at Metallungies and on Wale's site, and Wale and Ovechkin/Mike Green are supposed to meet up after the game.

If you're not familiar with Wale's sporting loyalties, he spent much of today ripping Tyler Hansbrough on his Twitter feed. If you're not familiar with his work, he's rapped about Freddy Adu, John Gilchrist ("Home of the Terrapins, beware of the Gilchrist"), Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis, Gilbert Arenas and the Hoyas. ("The home of Marvin Gaye; That's all I gotta say; Yeah, Iverson was cool; but I supported Victor Page.")

As for his Ovechkin line ("Yeah; Still high two stepping it; Do it for the capital, Wale Ovechkin,") he previously told me this: "It's a double meaning: capital is money and the Capital is Washington D.C. I mean, I mentioned Olaf Kolzig before, but the song never made it out....It was kind of like the same thing: 'Olaf Kolzig, my goal is capital.' "

Obviously, more on this as events warrant. And obviously, they will warrant.

This has the potential to be the greatest night of my life.

Sitting behind my computer with no plans and no transportation, I must say that is pretty sad, jgperras.

I lead a sheltered life.

Actually, I'm just hoping Wale busts out a Crosby/Malkin diss track in a few weeks, inspired by the game tonight.

Raise your hand if you followed Wale's twitter and the chat on walemusic.com all while following DC United's exhibition match in Charleston, SC via another chat session?

Don't worry about it, jgperras.
