Newest Skins Corner Can Hit Hard

Serious Terps fans need no reminding of the sort of hits that Kevin Barnes can deliver. Neither does Jahvid Best. The cornerback's demolition of the Cal star back was one of the most memorable moments of this past Terps season; the hit itself makes you look away, as does the resulting bright green vomit. The video is after the jump, for reasons of taste.

Eric Prisbell wrote a great story about the episode a few days later. An excerpt:

After the game, Best said it was probably the hardest he has ever been hit in his life and that he had trouble breathing the rest of the game. Asked if he felt bad for Best, Barnes said: "He's not permanently hurt, so I'm fine with that. Had he died or something, I'd have felt bad, but he'll probably be playing next week."...

Barnes said the widespread interest is in the vomit, not the tackle. Dewey Hammond, an Emeryville, Calif., resident who linked the video to his blog, Yardbarker, said: "No one is interested in the actual hit. Puking up something that looks radioactive doesn't happen every weekend, unless maybe you are a sophomore in college. Vicious hits are old hat."

Barnes was also teammates with Skins tackle Stephon Heyer, and with sometime-Skins QB Sam Hollenbach.

I love it when the terps and the skins come together.

Best Nickname by far: Kevin "Bam-Bam" Barnes. Now if only Victor "Macho" Harris was his team mate.

Regarding the Jason Campbell drama

Does anybody know a way to contact Jason Campbell? Mail, email, myspace, whatever? I am a fan of his and I would like to voice my support for him in spite of the Snyder and Cerrato.

Love the Skins' draft picks so far. So much for La Canfora's theories...

Great... he can hit hard. But can he play?
Also can he stay healthy? He seems to have a history with injuries.

As you can probably tell, I think that this draft overall was horrible. Orakpo is a guy you have to take at 13 since he dropped to you but besides that, it was awful.

Our team's greatest deficiency was OL last year and injuries along the line have been our downfall for the last several seasons. So what do we do? Draft 0 offensive lineman. That's Z-E-R-O.
