Signs of the Times at Nats Park

I'm done with the whole Phillies fans angle. Anyhow, there are too many of them to count, and too many their colors are too similar to the Nats to tell people apart. Plus, there are a decent number of people in equally impossible to distinguish Maryland red. As long as the stands look red, it's all good, right?

I will say that I keep seeing "Howard" jerseys, and I'm like "Cool! Frank How.....Oh. right."

Here are some more signs of the times, though, starting with the band above, Dr. Fu. You might remember Thom Loverro mentioned them last year, when band members were wearing the jerseys of ex-Nats Ryan Drese, Bill Bray, Billy Traber and Felix Rodriguez. Well, when the band arrived this year, they were given brand new jerseys. For Tim Redding, Brandon Watson and Johnny Estrada. I mean, are you kidding me? You can't find five Zimmermans, even after being publicly called out for handing ex-Nats jerseys to cover band members standing in the center field park? Gaack.

I've seen at least 15 MLB team insignias here, and probably about as many NFL teams, which is interesting. My favorite, I guess, was the guy in the Red Sox hat and the "Yankees Suck" shirt, who had tucked his free Nats hat into his belt. Seriously, take it back to Waltham. Yes, there are Steelers and Pirates fans. Yes, there's one Mets fan who saw another and said "Yeah, another Mets hat!" Yes, there's at least one two Sean Taylor jerseys. Yes, there's at least one David Ortiz jersey.

In more signs of the times, lots of Caps gear around. Also, more than a few people in tricked out Skins apparel, including one kid with the jacket-hat-sneakers combo. Longtime Skins employee Karl Swanson, on the other hand, was wearing a Nats hat. Well done, Karl.

I did feel sorry for the guy I saw in the Willingham jersey. That hasn't worked out as planned. Oh, and the much-ballyhooed healthy eats station, with the hummus wrap I'd be eating if it weren't Passover? Yeah, the line wasn't too long. Guess baseball fans aren't looking for healthy eats.

I'm sure the actual game is now the last thing on Phillies fans' minds.

At least they didn't slap Phillies shirts on the band.

And RIP Harry.

The band should have just bought their Phillies hats in the Nats Team Store.

...and rest in peace, Harry. I'll miss that voice!

Oh tell me you wouldn't wear an Erik Estrada jersey? :) Trick it out with a police shield or something.

Barno got his grub on at the healthy eats station. Turkey sandwich wasn't bad.
