Barra Brava Represent at Chivas

For some unknown reason, I watched virtually the entire Fox Soccer Channel pre-game show Saturday night. I was pleased to see several shots of D.C. United partisans, this being the one team with the potential to reverse D.C.'s reputation for suffering rather than administering massive fan invasions.

I was especially pleased when this one fellow in a Barra Brava jersey turned his back to the camera and pointed proudly at his Barra kit.

And then, I was especially especially pleased when his buddy reached into the frame to salute the FSC viewership. See that potentially objectionable photo over here. And bear in mind that the most recent time I spoke to a group of high school journalism students, the adviser had to get up after I was done and tell the kids, no, you shouldn't be using photos of people raising their middle fingers.

And speaking of nightmare fuel, Ben Olsen appeared in Nadine Namoff's Couture for a Cure fashion show last week. And yeah, he took his shirt off. Just be thankful these are sort of blurry.

The Barra returned during the post-game show, but I didn't catch any more delightfully immature gesturing. It did, however, appear that they had entirely replaced the young Chivas fans that had been behind Grisham and Sullivan during the first segment.

I believe the best chance to see DC sports fans go all Steelers on someone else will be DC's visit to Dallas and their 40 or so fans.

Yo, have videos of Olsen's ape man show surfaced on youtube? I've yet to see any thing on Behind The Badge... Did I miss something?

The fan invasion tables will be turned next season when United supporters take over Red Bull Arena and Philly's new stadium.

And I was at Couture for a Cure - Ben's shirtless display was Giggs-esque
