Orioles Media Guide Fail
A few of you have dinged me for not focusing on the mis-steps of other local sports franchises, such as the Orioles, who have had spelling issues of their own. Fair complaint. So, in the interest of moving toward equity, please observe the cover of the Orioles 2005 media guide. It looks bigger than the little instruction books that come folded up inside your typical bottle of prescription medication, but the basic idea is the same.
The Times's Thom Loverro picked up on this months ago, writing that "the cover of the Baltimore Orioles' 2005 media guide should wind up in Cooperstown if the Baseball Hall of Fame ever stages an exhibit to document the sport's steroid era." Of course, it could also be the handbook for a masters thesis on "A Shot in the Arm?: The Lack of Correlation Between Baseball Drug Use and Team Success."
Either way, someone should make a poster out of this to hang in middle school health classrooms.
