Skins Poised to Win Jumping Into Truck Title

Chatting at 11. Submit questions here. Ask me whatever the heck you want. Also, I'm at Nationals Park right now. The clock says it's 6:24. Not sure if that means AM or PM.

A few observations from today's wondrous news about the backup Skins wide receiver hopeful who jumps into pickup trucks wearing slippers:

1) "He has been told that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder and Executive Vice President of Football Operations Vinny Cerrato had seen the YouTube video, though he has no idea if it made an impression on them."

So Daniel Snyder and Vinny Cerrato watch YouTube videos together? Golly. I can just hear it now: "Boss, come in here, stat! You're never gonna believe the things this cat can do with this keyboard!"

2) He also set his high school's record in the high jump. I think he should make the practice squad, just in case the NFL scraps the 17th game in favor of an obstacle course/skills competition in which, among other things, players would be asked to hurdle shrubberies and Yukon Denalis.

3) In Les's story, Eloi sings the praises of having a slight breeze while playing football. Is it possible his leap was wind-aided?

4) Malcolm Kelly's vertical leap coming out of college was recorded at 32 inches. Les says Eloi can go 44. That's a full foot difference, 12 inches worth of leapability, springboardaliciousness, bouncey-bouncyocity. You could add my vertical to Kelly's vertical and still not reach Eloi's vertical. Sign that guy to a guaranteed deal today.

Maybe the Nats could have a being thrown under the bus competition. They have plenty of experience in that regard. ;-)

Speaking of the home 9, I pledge to click like crazy during the future Positive Nats Bog Coverage Week. I will encourage 8,999 of my closest Nats fan friends to do the same. Can't afford to send a $100 check every week, though.

I read about this video in the dead tree edition of the Post this AM. Thanks for making it easily accessible, Steinz.

I'm amazed at how easy Eloi made that jump look. Steinz has a higher vertical leap than me and I thought I could do that after seeing the apparent ease of Eloi's effort. Now the questions are:
-can he run routes accurately
-can he learn the playbook
-can he catch the ball reliably
-can he stay healthy
-and not least of all...can he make the team!

You got like three feet of air that time. Can I try it real quick?
