How things have changed for the Washington Nationals: the team now makes its way onto Comedy Central programming, and not as the punch line. As, like, the other part of the joke. The set-up, that's it. Anyhow, this strikes me as a milestone.

More morning links from Max Wasserman.

* Old friend Lastings Milledge may be recalled by the Pirates in time for Pittsburgh's series against the Nats (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

* The pre-dawn Skins training camp tailgaters are back, but I didn't interview them for the first time in recent memory. Luckily, someone else did. (Skins Blog)

* Chris Cooley taunts Cowboys fans. (Cooley Zone)

* How much should the Skins pay to get Brian Orakpo on the field ASAP? (Real Redskins)

* Alex Ovechkin about being mentioned by Barack Obama in his Moscow speech: "It was really great. I would even say it was an honor. It's nice that such people know that I exist..." (Stolitsa S translated by Japers' Rink)

* One-time Cap Matt Cooke doesn't make it to the parade in honor of him and the Stanley Cup in his hometown. (Puck Daddy)

* Roger Mason says Sam Cassell "was giving some young cat the biz" at the Verizon Center. (Bullets Forever)

* The Princeton Review's new look at the best 371 colleges in America lists Maryland as having the best athletic facilities in the country, ahead of such schools as Michigan, Penn State, and USC. Apparently, the Princeton Review only looked at giant outdoor climbing walls. (Tracking the Terps)

* Only two Maryland players made the Preseason All-ACC Team and one of them was the punter Travis Baltz. Virginia Tech had four and Virginia had one. (The ACC)

* Gary Williams is the second-most followed ACC men's basketball coach on Twitter, trailing Roy Williams by less than 500 followers. Seth Greenberg is third in the conference. Tony Bennett and Mike Krzyzewski don't tweet. (Turtle Soup)

* Mike Wise spent a good portion of his radio show yesterday taking calls and texts about 106.7 The Fan's jingle image. Nearly all of the callers thought it was awful (and oh, is it ever). The Junkies also crushed it this morning.

A different 106.7 The Fan--Nashville, Tennessee's ESPN Radio affiliate since December 2004--was stunting with "Sounds of Construction Sites" yesterday (seriously) in preparation for a format switch today, reportedly to Adult Contemporary. (Radio Ink, @radioinsight)

Man, I hate to disappoint Ovie, but Obama probably doesn't know he exists. All Obama knows is what comes up on his teleprompter.
