Morning Bog: Zimmerman Reps D.C. United

Since one of the D.C. Sports Bog's memes is "local athletes supporting other local pro teams," we have to start the morning with Ryan Zimmerman doing a promo for D.C. United. I'm sure the Nats will Win Trophies soon. And next, I'd like to see Ovechkin with the Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles, please.

More morning links, with help from Max Wasserman.

* And speaking of Ovechkin, in early September, he'll take over the kitchen at Manhattan's newest Russian restaurant, Mari Vanna. I'm trying to get a reservation. (Diner's Journal via Japers')

* Paul Farhi shreds the Skins preseason broadcast, and specifically calls out Kelli Johnson and Lindsay Czarniak for conflict of interest. (Station Break)

* Ryan Zimmerman should get the Gold Glove, but he needs a PR campaign to help. Or maybe he could make his own case in his blog. (Past a Diving Vidro)

The United just have to get Zimmm to record a motivational clip to play before the game, with such dynamic oration he'll be able to hype up the team to play one of the most exciting scoreless ties we'll see all season.

E. Dukes is a work in progress (Grand Slam last night). His name on that list is premature. Don't know whats up with JD Drew being on there.

Please, Lord, make this happen. Help us Obi-Wan Steinz. You're our only hope!
