D.C. Media Members Playing Ice Hockey

Feldman, Hellie.

Obviously I was too busy stalking Real World DC members member to adequately cover Caps Media Fantasy Camp, but here are some quick observations.

* Before I forget, Mike Green was around. He confirmed that @GreenLife52 is his Twitter feed, and that he will be updating it himself this season. So make a note of it. There are some fake accounts out there; this is the only one Mike is running.

* NBC's Dan Hellie showed up late for the pre-skate media meeting. Bruce Boudreau said he would have kicked out any player who showed up late. Instead, Dave Feldman decorated Hellie's back with the tape, seen above.

Czarniak, Walsh.

* Last year, Donald Brashear came to the fantasy camp, offering punching lessons, which led to many fabulous photo opportunities. This year, instead, the lessons were on shooting, checking, puck handling and faceoffs, featuring click magnet Boyd Gordon. One of many ways I already miss Brash.

* Tarik said Posties aren't allowed to participate. Yeah, I think he was scared, too. Yeah, I refused about 312 invitations to put on some skates.

* There were three goalies: A.J. Perez from USA Today, Mike D from Comcast SportsNet and Tara Wheeler, Miss Virginia 2008. They were coached by Arturs Irbe.

* Steve Kolbe showed up in goal last year, but this year he was nursing a rotator cuff injury suffered at another hockey game. More on that later. But maybe Tarik was onto something with the non-participation.

O'Halloran, Perez.
