Some Interesting Redskins Images
Having seen a few Redskins-related images that intrigued me in recent days, I thought maybe I'd just steal my colleague Jason Reid's Here's What I Think conceit to fill time while I ride up to New York to see Alex Ovechkin in a zamboni. Bear with me, and apologies to J Reid.
Here's what happened: I noticed that Redskins.com is still selling No. 40 Adam Archuleta jerseys for $79.99. I know they've been on sale at various points in the past, but I guess the sale ended.
Here's what I think: Kidding aside, this is a bigger affront to common decency than suing 72-year old grandmothers into bankruptcy. These should all be immediately donated to charity. Or burned.
Here's what happened: Clinton Portis wore this fine-looking Sean Taylor tee after practice on Monday.
Here's what I think: Clinton Portis has enough Sean Taylor shirts to wear a different one every day of the week and still have extras for postgame interviews.
Here's what happened: Tony Kornheiser's photo turned up on the ESPN 980 banner.
Here's what I think: First week on the job, and he's already right in the middle of the montage, with Steve Czaban? And Thom Loverro is shoved way off to the side? This is a recipe for clubhouse poison. Expect stories any day now, quoting "sources close to 980" explaining how Kornheiser's tipping pitches to The Fan or something.
Here's what happened: This advertisement for premium seats has been running on Redskins.com.
Here's what I think: Someone has a different definition of "limited" than I do. Though I guess everything's limited, in a certain sense. The number of Redskins' corporate partners? That's limited. The number of cars on the Beltway during rush-hour traffic? That's limited, too.
Here's what happened: Mike Sellers was named a Redskins special teams captain.
"Captain, huh?" he told CSN's Kelli Johnson. "I think it's a plot to get me to stretch, because I don't stretch. Now I'm standing in front of everybody on the team, I have to stretch a little bit."
The interview continued, in lighthearted fashion.
"If this cameraman don't get out of my face, we're gonna have some issues," Sellers said, in lighthearted fashion.
Here's what I think: If Mike Sellers said this to me, I would pretty much sprint in the other direction. In lighthearted fashion.
Here's what happened: I saw this old issue of the NFL magazine Pro, featuring a young Jim Zorn, on eBay.
Here's what I think: Look at that face. Such youthful, blissful confidence. Such clear vision, unclouded by the burden of life lived. Such optimism, with untold deep balls soaring out into the future and unimagined dodge ball drills just a twinkle in an eye. Such a ridiculous hairstyle. It makes me at once nostalgic for the Jim Zorn that was, and anxious to see what happens with the Jim Zorn that is.
