Boudreau's New TV Spots Are Whimsical
I was there when Bruce Boudreau filmed his first series of spots for American Service Center and Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria more than a year ago, and he was obviously an acting work in progress. (If you've forgotten, see the filming play-by-play here, and the final results here and here.)
I couldn't make it to this year's taping, but the results are out, and are all displayed here. As you can see, Boudreau was asked to significantly expand his acting portfolio, adding more than a few comedic elements, and his delivery is flawless. Huge progress over the span of just a year.
"Coach flexes his comedic muscles," is how the press release from White + Partners puts it, W+P being the agency that developed and co-directed the ads.
"The MJM dealerships provide luxury cars in a relaxed and friendly setting," W+P Creative Director Matt Walker says in the release. "Coach Boudreau personifies the approachable personality of the dealerships, and brought a bit of whimsy all his own."
Yeah, whimsy. Perfect word. These 30-second spots will run on Comcast SportsNet during Wizards and Caps games this season; you'll probably be sick of them by April, but enjoy them right now.
