DeShawn Stevenson's Ducktail

(By Steve Helber - AP)

Way back in the Spring, I noted that DeShawn Stevenson was growing a ducktail, of the sort made famous (in the NBA) by noted Stevenson friend and sparring partner Drew Gooden.

"He's mad," Stevenson said of Gooden. "[But] that's my boy."

Stevenson wouldn't let me photograph his ducktail at the time, because he said it looked too "rugged."

Months later, media day and training camp arrived, but every Stevenson story was naturally focused on his $5 Lincoln neck tattoo, and the ducktail thus slid by, almost unnoticed. Well, before we get any further into this preseason, let's correct that. (And see more photos from Wednesday night's Meet the Team event here.)

And as long as I'm already in the middle of a Wizards hairstyle post, this photo from Wednesday night is also awesome.
