Midnight Madness: Superheroes and Thriller

(By Rafael Suanes for George Mason Athletics.)

Maryland may have toned down its Midnight Madness festivities and eliminated the Hummer entrance, due to budget constraints, but that didn't mean that other Atlantic 11 programs weren't being playfully absurd.

At George Mason, the different classes came out as a group, and then do some sort of dunk routines. The sophomores came out as George Mason basketball players, then took off their tops to reveal super hero t-shirts. For the price of four t-shirts, it'd be hard to make a better display of awesomeness.

At Georgetown, meantime, there was dancing galore, highlighted by John Thompson III donning a white glove, raising his hand in the air, and then beckoning his players out to the sounds of Thriller. Some of those guys can dance; (watch the terrific video here, see a photo gallery here). Some, less so.

Less happy: someone fired a gun in a McDonough bathroom during Midnight Madness, destroying a toilet bowl.

Turns out the GW men also did a Thriller routine, mixing it with Single Ladies. And much, much better outfits. Comprehensive coverage at The GW Hatchet.

And then there's Duke. Yeah. Via The Dagger.
