Vegas thinks Skins in the running for Vick
Posted merely to move the Call for Atlantic 11 voters down on the screen, so people will stop e-mailing me....
Sadly, I forgot to listen to Inside The Red Zone With Vinny Cerrato on Friday morning, though Twitter updates make it sound like a good one. No opening monologue this week; instead, Cerrato interviewed Mike Tirico to start the show. Naturally.
And he also said he'll be attending the Notre Dame-Pitt game this weekend. In other words, feel free to pre-order your James Richard "Jimmy" Clausen Redskins jersey!
No no, just kidding. But you might want to look into a Michael "Mike" Vick jersey. Online odds distributor and general source of entertainment Bodog.com sent along some odds on things that no one actually bets on, and they have some Redskins flavor.
Which team will sign Larry Johnson first during the 2009 Regular Season?
Pittsburgh Steelers, 3-1
Washington Redskins 3-1
Seattle Seahawks 5-1
Atlanta Falcons 5-1
Cincinnati Bengals,10-1
He will not sign with anyone 2-1
Etc.
Which team will Michael Vick be on for Week 1 of the 2010 NFL Regular Season?
Buffalo Bills 2-1
Cleveland Browns 5-1
Washington Redskins 5-1
Saint Louis Rams 5-1
Oakland Raiders 15-2
Carolina Panthers 10-1
San Francisco 49ers 15-1
Field Even
The only other relevant prop is on the NFL sacks leader, with Andre Carter at 8-1 and Brian Orakpo at 15-1. Most of the other odds involve good teams and compelling games.

If you have a terrible offensive line, won't adding an incredible scrambing quarterback reduce the negative impact of that line somewhat? In other words, by adding Vick, Vinny could ditch Campbell and camouflage the terrible job he has done constructing an offensive line, thereby killing two birds with one Vick. Signing Vick is so much in keeping with the front office's standard operating procedure that it's bound to happen.

Heads you win, tails I lose...
Whoever gets Vick must take all the baggage that goes with...
and frankly, his better days were long gone before he was ever arrested.
However, it is noteworthy that Redskins are near top of both lists...
Do we dare presume that's because Vegas might think as poorly of the ownership group as we do?
Who else would you ever rate so high on a list of those teams that seem inclined to make such bone-headed player acquisitions?
