Cowboys have bigger fish to fry?
You might remember that after the Redskins played the Cowboys last month, LaRon Landry had a few things to say about Dallas receiver Roy Williams.
"Scared," Landry said, according to Matt Terl at the Skins Blog. "Yeah. I know he was. Y'all can quote it, too. Y'all can tell him right now, tell him I'm sayin' it. I can say it right now: Yeah, he was scared, I think. I told him he was scared."
Of course, the Cowboys technically won that game, but whatever. And when it was pointed out that the teams would meet again, Landry chuckled and said "I don't care, what's that gonna do?"
Now, both teams would seem to have more important things to worry about than a month-old quote or two, but just for the record, I figured I should note that at least one member of the Cowboys responded to Landry. These quotes are also a month old -- and were used by the Washington Times at the time -- but I'm pretty sure we never used them on this here Web site.
"We don't even get into those chatterbox conversations, because that's not football," Dallas linebacker Bradie James said on The Monty Show on Sporting News Radio. "What we try to do is, really we speak on the field. And when the game is over with, whoever scores, or whoever wins and scores the most points can talk the loudest."
Then James mentioned how Dallas needed to worry about it's upcoming opponent, and "that's why we don't have to entertain what LaRon Landry is talking about, because we've got bigger fish to fry."
As for Williams, his comments on the Skins this week have been complimentary.
"They don't want to get embarrassed twice on national TV on a national stage playing against America's Team. It's just not going to happen," he said, according to the Dallas Morning News. "They're going to give us their best shot. We going to have to handle it on the road, probably in the cold and the fans, that place is going to be rocking."
