Mike Wise meets Obama, Part II

If I'm not mistaken, Barack Obama has attended two D.C. sporting events in his time as president. What do they have in common?

Well, sure, they were both basketball games. But beyond that, at both sporting events, the president was granted a brief audience with Washington Post sports columnist Mike Wise. He's like the little kid who catches a foul ball on his first two trips to a park; now, he probably thinks every fan is offered such a treat at every D.C. sporting event. Not so, Mr. President. Consider yourself fortunate. And props on not asking Wise for his autograph.

Anyhow, the two met again at Saturday's GW game, where Obama was watching his brother-in-law coach Oregon State to a narrow win. Wise and Obama chatted for about a minute, with Obama breaking into genuine-looking laughter several times. See video, below.

"It was good to see the President again," Wise wrote to me by way of explanation. "We talked hoops and I told him Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said to say hi. Here's hoping I get the privilege to play basketball with him at some point. I mean, after fixing the civilized world, I've got to think I'm down a few notches on the list."

Not you, Mike. Wilbon, maybe, but not you. You're right at the top.

And here was Obama's first meeting with Wise, in case you've forgotten.

I think Obama was laughing because Wise was telling him that he wanted to kiss his butt.

Thanks for that Barno1. I had been agreeing with too many of your posts recently and figured something was wrong. Now that you're back to making your ridiculous posts, I know everything is okay.
