Season greetings from Greivis Vasquez

If you'd like to have a song about the glowing of your inner turtle stuck in your head for the rest of the day, please to go to the Happy Holidays '09 video from the University of Maryland, featuring guest appearances from Maury Povich, Connie Chung, Greivis Vasquez, Scott Van Pelt, Gary Williams, Johnny Holliday, Testudo, Stephon Heyer, and a lot of people I don't recognize. No Friedgen, that I could see. Lyrics:

Your inner turtle spends his time inside your heart
It's kinda weird but he's been there from the very start
(Since I was a wee turtle)
Your inner turtle wants for you to spread some cheer
If you do, he'll be smilin' from ear to ear
(I don't have ears)
Pick him up, pull on his tail
Let him go, happy thoughts prevail

Chorus!

Now's the time, Tis the Season
Time is now, It's the reason
Let your inner turtleeeeeeeee glow.

(The reason these guys are all looking down is because they're holding in their hands a glowing turtle. Trust me, it makes sense in context.)

Seriously, though. Let Your Inner Turtle Glow. (And thanks to much-appreciated WaPo blog commenter JohninMpls for the tip.)

That last photo looks about right for Byrd this year.

The holiday video keeps getting weirder and weirder. I fully support that trend.

Attendance at Byrd this year was down, yes, but would still have ranked among the best seasons of the 90s at Byrd. Also, even if the pic was taken during a game (which it obviously wasn't) the picture is of the visitor's section, guy...
