Romanowski: "A Super Bowl is coming"

Bill Romanowski won two Super Bowls with Mike Shanahan, and has remained a staunch advocate of the former Broncos coach. But Romanowski's comments after the Redskins hired Shanahan went well beyond those of an "advocate." I mean, Romo was pretty fired up.

"Bottom line is he is a winner," Romanowski told Comcast SportsNet's Jill Sorenson. "And I know he is very excited to be there, and I just know in my heart that get ready Washington, because a Super Bowl is coming your way."

Like, soon? Because that'd be good.

"Of course he'll have to earn respect," Romanowski said. "The bottom line, he'll earn that real quick, because when he walks into a room, he's got a certain presence about him. He's a very smart, articulate guy. He's passionate, he's detail-orientated, and bottom line is, he will win in Washington....He won two Super Bowls, and he collected and brought together a great group of guys. You know, John Elway was not able to win the Super Bowl, and then [Shanahan] got there, took over the team, brought in a great group, a great core of guys and we were able to get the job done. He's a great leader, and a great motivator, and he will bring the right talent to that team and do whatever it takes to win a world championship."

While I appreciate the positive sentiment for the Redskins, I really don't think we should be listening to a racist steroid cheat like Romanowski.

He is a complete disgrace and his opinion means jack squat.

I do not care for this Bill Romanowski person, but if you parse his statement I think he may be alluding to the likelihood that Snyder will inveigle or otherwise coerce the other owners into scheduling a Super Bowl in Washington... probably upon the opening of our new whiz-bang stadium in the next, oh, fifteen years or so.

Did he make this comment before or after he shilled for his latest cocktail of supplements? The guy is a joke; he should only be mentioned in your bog if you intend to discuss the decade's best clowns.

Whoa Romanowski. Slow your roll, breds. Nobody's going to the Superbowl, at least not in the next 5 years. Shanahan has his work cut out for him, to rebuild this underperforming team from the ground up. This will take a lot of time and a lot of patience from Snyder and fans. Next time, stay off the drug induced Kool Aid before you open your mouth.
