Ovechkin's goal is SportsCenter's top play
That's two days in a row D.C.-ish athletes have earned the top spot on ESPN's list of top plays. Thursday, it was Mustapha Farrakhan's nasty dunk for Virginia. Friday, it was Alex Ovechkin's one-handed left-handed 500th-point goal.
Also, if you haven't opened your paper yet (and yes, I know you subscribe), Ovechkin and the Caps made A1, above the fold, along with the snow. The page was beautifully designed by designer Jon Wile, although it's even more beautiful with this addition

That was definitely #1 worthy, but the tic-tac-toe passing play from Ovie to Semin to Knuble definitely could've been #2. Go Caps!

@jcleggett -- Uh, what game were you watching? That was Ovie to BACKSTROM to Knuble! Semin hasn't been on their line for awhile now. Why, oh why, can't BACKIS get the respect he so deserves?!!! The man had 5, YES 5, points last night people! Let's show a little RESPECT!!!!!!!!!

capswench, 19's never going to seek or receive the attention 8 gets nightly. We'll not let it spoil our enjoyment of the SuperSwede. I'm pretty sure that was his 2nd 5-point game this season...
