Erin Andrews and Dancing With the Stars

I sort of wanted to retire from the "cheap posts about Erin Andrews" business, but I couldn't really let the Dancing With the Stars news pass by without comment. As you might recall, the ESPN reporter told Steve Yanda and me last May about her great desire to appear on this program, and we duly passed on lots of quotes about her wish.

"I want to do it, because I think I'd be good at it," Andrews said at the time. "I want to do it very badly. That's the big push....I love the show, and I've grown up around dancing. "People say, 'Oh, you're a dancer, how could you do it?' But I've never taken ballroom, I've never partnered dance with anyone. I think I'd be in the top, unless I fall. I'm a big faller. If you fall, that's a hard fall, which I'm sure would make the Internet very happy."

"Using my vast influence with the show, she's got about a 30 percent chance," host Tom Bergeron told me, adding that Andrews's dancing history wouldn't be a problem as long as she's never done ballroom. "I know she'd be competitive. Look at her. Look at that ferocious, competitive face. She can actually be borderline violent."

You can see Bergeron discuss all this in the above video, which is no less embarrassing to me now than it was at the time.

"I would love it love it love it," Andrews said. "I want to be like, 'Who do I call?' Let's do this."

Well, it's being done. I'd like to think Yanda and I, and our lunch at the Capitol City Brewing Company, played a small role in helping this along. Or maybe I'm just trying to get a cheap Erin Andrews post out of it.

I don't get why so many people think Erin Andrews is hot - I don't think she is that pretty. Maybe it's because she is a blonde female working in a male dominated field, so she can by default win a beauty contest over John Feinstein? Is that what laeds to the all the Erin Andrews slurping?

Whatev, she just ain't that hot in my book, and she is not famous for any "reporting" she has done, but instead because someone illicitly taped her undressing. In her hotel room. Through a peephole. Ooooooo! How titillating! Peep Peep!
