LaVar Arrington slams Albert Haynesworth

LaVar: "It's timeout for getting carted off a field." (By Ricky Carioti - TWP)

Albert Haynesworth's public explanation of his decision to train on his own during voluntary workouts, and of his reluctance to play nose tackle in the 3-4, elicited a few reasonable responses.

Matt Terl, for example, pointed out that Haynesworth's body type really would be unusual in a 3-4 scheme. And Rich Campbell presented the Haynesworth dilemma: "On one hand, his prowess on the field when he's fully engaged in the game proves he's among the most talented players in the league at any position. On the other, his work ethic, leadership and desire present some uncomfortable questions."

And obviously defensive players skipping voluntary workouts is nothing particularly new in Redskinsland. Shawn Springs and LaRon Landry have both gone that route in recent years, drawing some media attention, but perhaps not to this level. Because Haynesworth's decision also brought out extreme dissatisfaction in a few other folks. I mean, dude nearly caused LaVar Arrington's head to explode.

Trust me, if you liked LaVar in "Arrington Slays Portis," you'll just love his performance in "Arrington Slams Haynesworth." Same guttural roar, same all-CAPS delivery, same 17-espresso intensity, but an even more pointed critique of a current player's performance. As always, please listen yourself. You won't be disappointed.

"First and foremost, you're coming off of a 4-12 season," Arrington began, in a normal speaking voice. "You -- speaking of you, Albert Haynesworth -- were supposed to be the key cog in resurrecting a team that should have been playoff bound when they brought you here. That was what the huge contract was for, that was what all the hoopla was about....

"And what I would tell him is, if your legacy and if your reputation means the world to you, if your family name, if your teammates mean the world to you, then you don't need to hear Mike Shanahan say I disagree with you going with your guy to go train. You don't have to hear that.....

"This is a red flag, Albert. This is a red flag. Be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem. I understand, listen, I ain't trying to be in your pocket. I'll be the last one to try to be in your pocket. But if you're saying you want to work out and do this heavy stuff with your guy, bring him here. Bring him here.

"And you know what, as a leader, you don't want to be a nose guard? How about you bring your whole defensive line with you, and y'all train together, and see if somebody emerges out of that whole crew that can be that dog in the middle as a nose tackle. How about you have every last one of those defensive linemen with you, Albert. How about they come with you. Let me watch how you work, let me see the things that you do, let me see what made you the man that had to be brought here at the price tag that you were brought here for. Let me see that, before we even put a shell, a pad or a helmet on, let me see that....

"And we talk about this all the time, Chad: something called accountability becomes a part of you. It is a bond between your players, your teammates, your coaches, everyone, from the person who lays out your uniform on Sundays, to the person who picks it up after, to the person you go to war with on Sunday. If you had more accountability, you wouldn't be laying yourself down on the ground like you did during the course of the season last year. If you had more accountability you would have came in ready, where you would have got up.

"But you know what? I'm not even gonna focus on that. That's not even worth focusing on. That's in the past. What are you going to do to be that warrior that leads by example for the future, for the present, right here and now? What are you going to do right now? What are you doing to make the Washington Redskins better now. Unfortunately, we will never know, because we won't see you here, your teammates won't see you here.

"When I pass out on the floor after working out so hard to get ready for this season, you did not see me pass out, nor did you put your hand out to help me out when I was done, or vice versa. Your personal trainer did. Well, last time I checked, personal trainers don't suit up and go on the field with you. Last time I checked. Personal trainer my assets. Personal trainer? Bring him here.

"You do your time and you establish what you did not establish last year. It's not enough to come out at the end of the season -- and you're working on having four wins -- it's not enough to come out and say, 'Well, we need some more accountability around here, well, we need some better coaching, well, we need to do things differently. You did not pay the price enough to come out of your face and say that. You did not earn enough respect.

[By this point everything was being said at a heightened volume, but if I post in all-CAPS the Internet crazy police will come lock me up, so just imagine.]

"If London Fletcher said what Albert Haynesworth said, it would have been received and it would have been filed and documented. Why? Because that man paid the price. Why does his name not come up for leaving and going to work out with somebody on his own. Why doesn't Rocky McIntosh's name come up. Why haven't we heard Brian Orakpo's name come up? And he's a baby. God forbid, you have to have a baby lead your team.

"And you're supposed to be one of the workout warriors, you're supposed to be one of the game-day warriors, you're supposed to be a warrior for this team, and you say I won't even be here? But yet when you come back and it's time to go to war and it's time to go to work, you'll look at them and they'll look at you and on game day. You're supposed to trust each other enough to go out there and win a game. Four and 12. Four and 12.

"And need I add, your accolades aren't that good for you to act the way you're acting. I've looked at your highlights, I've looked at your Wikipedia page. You don't have enough on there to act this way. Sorry....You're not where you need to be. You're not. You're not. And you need to realize that and you need to humble yourself before you find yourself in a situation where you don't have the opportunity.

"Right now you have the opportunity to right what you're doing. Right now you have the opportunity to take the bull by the horns and be what it is that you need to be, and not for anybody else other than for yourself and for your teammates. Not for anything else other than that. But it's time out for falling out. It's time out for getting carted off a field. I ain't never seen somebody get carted off a field and come back and play. That's not heroic. Nobody's looking at you like, 'What a hero!' Nobody's looking at you that way. They're looking at you like you a lazy A-cat that had to get carted off the field.

"Who knows what they did for you while you was in the locker room, gave you some oxygen or something like that so you could come back out and play. Nobody looked at it as heroic, and you need to know it, and maybe the people around you aren't telling you that, but somebody needs to say it to you. Because if you don't stop that, all's you will be known as is the guy that came to Washington and was a part of a long list of free agents that came here, took money, did nothing, and left. If that's what you want your legacy to be, by all means, let that be your legacy.

"But if you want to do something that is constructive and that is going to make this team what it needs to be, at the end of the day, you need to come on back. And you need to say, 'You know what, I am here to work, and I'm here to work with my team, and I'm here to work with my coaches, and we're gonna get better."

Booyah!!! I will be the FIRST to regret trashing my LA jersey. He tells the truth.

Maybe LA can explain his comments about Saint Joe all those years ago which made me burn his jersey...

Good to see LA calling Fat Albert out.

Posted by: calhokie | March 23, 2010 9:59 AM | Report abuse

I'm sorry, but Lavar's accolades are no better. Go read his Wikipedia page, since that's the yardstick he's using. All you see is contract and injury talk. Aside from being Snyder's BFF, he did nothing to warrant the sustained opportunities he was given as a member of the Redskins.

I understand that this is his role now, but I was sick of his self-righteous diatribes as soon as they began.

Posted by: JohninMpls | March 23, 2010 10:19 AM | Report abuse

Man Lavar has been nailing it lately. I'm proud to say I never burned his jersey, and have worn it darned near every game since his second or third year.

Posted by: wahoo2x | March 23, 2010 10:22 AM | Report abuse

Who's Albert Haynesworth? Is he that big guy who was laying on the sidelines out of breath all season? I thought that guy was a back-up...

Posted by: Mathonwy | March 23, 2010 10:24 AM | Report abuse

Couldn't have said it better myself. Hope fat Al listens and shows up to Redskins park the rest of the ofseason.

Posted by: ryan_conaway | March 23, 2010 10:28 AM | Report abuse

Nice, but I think it's fairly clear that Haynesworth feels that he is above anybody's criticism. Even if that rant came from Snyder himself, I think Albert would brush it off just knowing he can go anywhere and draw a paycheck until he wears his welcome out. I think that time is rapidly approaching here.

Posted by: LouLewis | March 23, 2010 10:32 AM | Report abuse

LaVar was a perpetually dinged-up overrated player who just wanted to go out onto the field and do his own thing rather than play team defense, so I can think of nobody more qualified to deliver that same assessment on another player.

Posted by: yatesc1 | March 23, 2010 10:38 AM | Report abuse

I put Lavar's comments on anything dealing with the Redskins right up there with John Riggins, not worth listening too....

Thank you Lavar! for saying what 99% of the Redskins fans are thinking about this lazy tub of lard.

You don't have to like Lavar, but the dude is right about Albert. Dead on right. That's some awesome radio.

Posted by: CDon | March 23, 2010 10:49 AM | Report abuse

Cut and time to move on.

He doesn't want to be a NT, doesn't want to work out with his team, if this is really a new day in Washington... it's time to get winners not paycheck guys. The winners will be there with the team.

Posted by: HollywoodPlayboy | March 23, 2010 10:51 AM | Report abuse

Well played Sir...

Unfortunately, Fatboy is face down in the potato salad and can't hear you...

Posted by: kahlua87 | March 23, 2010 10:52 AM | Report abuse

Here's the one thing that LaVar didn't say that is even more pertinent: Albert, the Redskins can cut your *** this offseason and not face any salary cap repercussions. One look at Mike Shanahan tells you that he would do it in a heartbeat.

Frankly, given Albert's crazy contract, I'm a little surprised they didn't cut him anyway.

Posted by: acoberst1 | March 23, 2010 10:52 AM | Report abuse

Ummmmmm, isn't it Snyder's fault for signing Albert.

I'm shocked that we gave all this money to one player and he's not living up to the hype... again...

Posted by: Scoonie97 | March 23, 2010 11:14 AM | Report abuse

Much more likely they get the year of play out of him, then cut him after the last day of the season. It's still within the "uncapped year" and you pay him roughly the same either way.

Posted by: CByrd1 | March 23, 2010 11:15 AM | Report abuse

So ya'll say cut him, pay the $21M, and get nothing in return. Let's see, he wasn't brought here to be a 3-4 nose tackle. He like the rest of ya'll complained about Blatche's conservative defense. And now ya'll want to take the word of an overrated ex-Redskin that ya'll wanted to get rid of the same way ya'll want to get rid of Fat Albert.

Posted by: I_95 | March 23, 2010 11:17 AM | Report abuse

Good work LA, well done Redskin fan. Baby Elephant Albert is better stop crying, be the man, be the hero, play your gut out.....

Posted by: bigskin04 | March 23, 2010 11:19 AM | Report abuse

The man has played 1 year of a 6 year deal and people think that he hasn't lived up to the deal. That's bout as dumb as calling a rookie QB a bust after 1 year.

Posted by: I_95 | March 23, 2010 11:22 AM | Report abuse

It's amazing how easy so many feeble minded fools are swayed once again by the media's bias towards the Redskins. Haynesworth played the 2nd most snaps on Defense last year, yet, everytime he came off the field the camera's were focused right on him...yet, they never did that to any other player on our team. I guess Haynesworth is suppose to play every snap. I guess everyone has also forgotten how Haynesworth was double and triple teamed last year, allowing Carter and Orakpo to have double digit sack seasons. I'm not saying Haynesworth is without fault, but he's certainly not half as bad as most of the simple minded fools have been led to believe by the media and talking heads like Lavar. It's just something else to try and spin against the ownership, and once again, the non-educated fans fall right in to the trap....hook, line, and sinker!!

Posted by: frmi | March 23, 2010 11:33 AM | Report abuse

Haynesworth is a load and never should have been signed. But Arrington was a diva and a me-first guy when he played. So he has no credibility.

Posted by: poguesmahone | March 23, 2010 11:43 AM | Report abuse

But we all new and know this is LaVar's spirit and how he honestly feels. This is why THOSE OF US that were upset, were upset when SNYDER blackballed VAR.

Anyway, doesn't matter what Mr. Buttersworth does, he will never be a Redskin in the truest since. Same thing with Portis. They just are not Redskins..

Why do you think the Titans let him walk? Why would you ever pick up someone else's garbage at that price, knowing he ain't right upstairs??

Posted by: kevenjones | March 23, 2010 11:43 AM | Report abuse

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Lavar is probably my second favorite Redskin over the past 15-20 years or so behind Sean Taylor. With that being said though who exactly does he think he is? Last I checked LAVAR ARRINGTON's legacy is one that suggest he NEVER lived up to his potential either. He was supposed to be the next Lawrence Taylor or Derrick Thomas. He had three pro bowl seasons 2001-2003 and his rookie season was OK. Aside from that....THAT'S IT! He has no superbowls, no defensive MVP's, no team MVP's or anything else relevant. He was also apart of just two playoff teams while he was here himself. Not only that but during the time that he was hear it was said that HE was a distraction and thought he was above everyone else. Now whether or not that's true we'll never really know but the point is that's what the perception was. How is that any different from Portis or Haynesworth?!?!?! I mean they're all being called distractions for different reasons but in the end a distraction is a distraction regardless of the reasoning behind it. Now while he may make some valid points I just don't get why he feels he's the man to make them. Just my opinion though...

Don't cut Fat Albert, fine him at every possible opportunity. Late for a meeting? Miss a workout? Play less than 75% of the plays? Won't play your designated position? Make comments in the media which disrupt team morale? Give him a full $21 million worth of fines or take him to court for breech of contract because of a lack of services delivered. Deplete his contract as long as he doesn't do what he's told because that is all he cares about - his money, because "he gots his". Enforce every single clause and fine and removal of income available. I am sure there are come kind of performance clauses, some kind of behavior clauses concerning speaking out, some kind of leadership clauses. He should be run into the ground mercilessly. Make his life a living hell. There is a reason that TN wouldn't resign his fat, lazy self, eh?

LOL @ KDSmallJr...You are right about one thing. There is a reason that Tennessee didn't resign Haynesworth and that's because the Redskins "somehow" reached a deal with him in the first minute of free agency last year. How exactly you do that without talking to him before the start of free agency we'll never know. LOL

Posted by: eazy413 | March 23, 2010 12:25 PM | Report abuse

JohninMpls and others....
Man, LaVar did more in his few years than some who spent longer time....just not enough around him, but as a long Skins fan, LaVar has the right to speak his mind and in the minds of Skins fans, he has earned it (knocking out Troy Aikman for his career - the Cowboys QB - man, we all loved it)! LaVar has earned it, so everyone get your facts before you say LaVar hasn't EARNED anything because to many a Skins Fan that one hit is worth a Hall of Fame vote!
LaVar is hitting topics right on and I love him for it, his experience (like most College/Pro athletes) is exactly right....Fat Albert getting carted off the field, LaVar is right, there is NO ONE on the field or on the Team saying "wow, Al Haynes took one for the team in getting carted off then coming back....to me and LaVar and many others who understand, WHY did he get carted off the field in the 1st place - LAZY!!! And that doesn't inspire anyone, it really just labels a guy as Fat and Lazy - really he took money from the Skins that should have NEVER been offered in the 1st Place - we know Bruce Allen would NEVER have offered that kind of money to Albert - the time is right to move him onward - trade him now, get a guy worth playing the Nose position....doesn't a Nose get double teams, so Fat Albert should play Nose, off set if needed, and take on the double teams...because it HELPS the team!
I never heard once anyone complain about Dave Butz or Darrel Grant, these guys just played their butts off and everyone knew when we won they did their JOBs and did it QUITE well and it was GREATLY APPRECAITED!

So, for me and many Skin Fans, LaVar just keep hitting people right between the eyes with the right stuff - I am using your comments for my 14yr old son, who actully meet you in Carlisle during Training Camp and you were off to Lunch BUT you took the time to take a picture with him, a young fan, so to me, you are what a pro is and should be, thanks for keeping it real!

Posted by: talbottj | March 23, 2010 12:27 PM | Report abuse

The most relevant thing that came out of LA's rant was when he noted that "...the last time I checked, personal trainers don't go on the field and suit up with you." Well, the last time I checked, neither does LA. So why should AH be interested in what he has to say? Why shoud he be beholding to this essentric egomaniac? Besides, what the hell can LA point to as an example for AH? Certainly no championships. Very few playoffs or allstar appearnaces. The most I can remember was his wars with the idiot Redskins management (Snyder, etc.) over money.

For those trying to call out LA...he may not have lasted in the league as long as we would have liked, but that doesn't mean his perspective is off. The key is how his teammates view him. 90% of life is showing up. AH isn't and that speaks volumes as to his priorities and to him as a person.

Though I agree with Lavar's comments on Albrt Haynesworth, I wish Lavar was this way when he played for us. Lavar complained heavily when he has to play limited DE under Marvin Lewis. And now he is critizin Haynesworth from complaining about having to play NT. Additionally, if Lavar was truly concerned about his legacy, he would have make peace with the Redskins rather than accusing them of cheating him. Since Lavar never directly dealth with the Redskins during contract negotiation, he can't say whether he was cheated by the Redskins or his agent just committed legal malpratice.

sufferingskinsfan--I think it is common knowledge based on reporting of the contract and what occurred that Lavar has a legit issue with Snyder. My recollection is that the Skins took out money out of what was supposed to be final contract terms dropped a bonus payment in the 7-figures range) that was transmitted for signature. Lavar's attorney/agent did not catch the change BUT the Redskins have admitted they didn't tell them about the change either. Legally, LA signed the contract so he is stuck with the results, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a good reason for holding a grudge for how things transpired.

If everyone on the 'skins had lavar's heart, we would be perpetual contenders. @johninmpls, the reason lavar's wikpedia page is short on accolades, is do to a) a knee injury the redskins forced him back onto the field too early thus exacerbating it b) poor use of his skills by the coaching staff in washington and c) a ruptured Achilles tendon. The fact that daniel snyder made him his bff (he really did) and then cheated him out of $6 million and joked about it is a reflection on snyder not Lavar.
As far as haynesworth goes, strike one buddy. Cutting him would really set the tone for the new regime and he wouldn't be missed. He doesn't
care about the team. He is hopefully the last remaining piece of the painful reminder of the incompetence that has illustrated Dan snyder's
handling of the once proud franchise. Maybe snyder will lower ticket prices and beer prices bc of the pain he has cost us and the
nosediving economy. Oh wait , that won't happen bc he is too busy
suing former lifetime season ticket holders who couldn't pay for their
tickets any longer, or at least preferred food and a home to the crap he
has forced down our throats for ten years. . . let's not forget that he denied tickets to Washington fans so that he could sell them to ticket brokers who then sold them to steelers fans who embarrassed every real fan - on national television no less.

Did it ever occur to you WHY the cameras were focused on him? Not because he was larger than your future, not because he was coming out every other play, but because he got paid more than ANYONE ON THE FRIGGIN TEAM.
It's called accountability and being a team player. He is about self. And when you're getting paid that much money, you better do whatever the coach wants you to. Accountability/teamwork/pride- look into it.

AH - the only guy in NFL history to get trucked off the field and then come back and PLAY the second half. I love that.

I heard AH was seen at Wal-mart shopping in one of those powered carts.

Lavar, sad to say people, you may NOT like him, but those that heard him? HEARD him!

Lavar is telling the cha-RUTH!!!!

Albert is an overpaid bum. Every word Lavar says is dead on....like it or NOT!

Ahahahahahah!

Fat Albert...lol

Posted by: cbmuzik | March 23, 2010 4:51 PM | Report abuse

I 100% agree with Lavar, Albert get paid big time money, and he doesn't want to workout with the team, what type of leader are you. The Redskins only won 4 games last year, we have a new system, new coaches, new everything, i believed last year you didn't get along with the coaching because of the poor system now you have a Super Bowl coach who understand the game of Football but your still giving excuses. Be a man and a leader and bring a championship to DC, I believe we have the staff and players to do so, Change start now.

Thanks
ETainment

I'm not a fan of LaVar's I'm even less of one for Slobsworth.

LaVar was on the mark about Slobsworth

Flab-Bert may be the skins worst free agent signings since, Jeff George.

Lavar hit the bullseye.
When I read AH's comments the other day, I got the feeling this was going to be an issue.
AH is getting paid. He should do his best to do his job, build his team and lead.
I like AH but if the PT has been training him, why has he always been known to play 60% of the def. plays?

Hey he's his own man but he has a new coach, new scheme, new leadership in the organization and $100+ million dollars. If its not family related he should be there.

LaVar, I love you, man, always will, but its time to move on. Let it go and find some peace. This game ain't worth it.

That being said, where's Dave Butz when you really need him?

Posted by: tmkelley | March 24, 2010 12:34 AM | Report abuse

Haynesworth just aint that kinda guy. I mean, he DID stick up for D Hall that time. And we WAS a force on the inside.

But, he aint really a big "team" guy. I just hope he aint bullshi**ing and he comes back in great shape.

I'm not sure how much his teammates appreciated him showing up with all that money in his pockets - especially when you look at guys like Daniels and Fletcher and Griffin.

Not sure how welcome he was really made to feel, but, TRUE, skipping out on the BS of "Voluntary Camps" doesn't help matters.

Posted by: Thinker_ | March 24, 2010 1:07 AM | Report abuse

If LaVar wasn't trying so hard to sell spots for the Radio station he works for than I might want to start drinking some of that Kool-Aide you good folks are all drinking. Ever since he went off on Portis, he's fallen into that MEDIA TRAP DOOR, and now he's like Glen Beck on Roids. Talk about the money all you want, but Zorn and company probably ran the WORSE Training Camps in this teams history. How many people were on that injury list before the 6th game of the season? A whole lot!!!!!

You wanna talk about JC not stepping up to be a leader, or Albert not stepping up to be a leader. How about Zorn stepping up to Cousin Vinny and Snyder putting a rest to the CIRCUS like atmosphere?

How about Blache not holding Landry, Rogers, and Hall accountable for their actions? How many times did this defense allow teams to go the distance, especially the Lions to establish long scoring drives?

Maybe all of these guys should be locked away from the media, and all the fans and get as far away from Redskins Park and just concentrate on football, and what it takes to be a team again.

Arrington is a radio host who talks about the same way he played. High intensity/hype which is often compelling enough to grab you, but in the end you're always kind of disappointed.

Haynesworth can work out away from ashburn if he gets in excellent shape and plays like a monster as far as I'm concerned. I think arrington has a point as far as making sure you still "bond" with your team mates. But really, this tirade by arrington is just shullbit.

I know some people are hating on LA but he's 100 percent right about Fat Albert. Dude talking about getting his own personal trainer but we all know that means he'll be exercising at whatever pace and level that he wants...meaning at the Big Mac extra fries level. Chances are we'll see him tossing his salad on the field again and sucking up all the oxygen. What a joke. Synder and company kept going for big name free agents and forgot to consider character. This is the price you pay.

EVERYTHING LAVAR SAID WAS TRUE!
Never once did he say anything about his legacy or his stats.
Yes Lavar did complain a lot ,but who wouldn't, He played a referent potion every year.

All those words to say one thing. Albert was not in condition last year. He was carted off and laying on the field because he was out of breath. It was basic conditioning. He needs to hear that, and prove BETTER at it this year. He should be ashamed of being out of condition.

PS. When he is in and fresh he is outstanding. What he does not seem to understand is we need him in when the battle is ongoing, late in a game, or a long drive and still be able to function. LOOK IN THE MIRROR BIG AL AND TELL ME I'M WRONG? YOU WERE WINDED MULTIPLE TIMES. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

Whatever. Big Al was the ONLY reason Orakpo and Carter got 11 sacks each. Big Al wreaks havoc on opposing offenses. Get out of here, man. Even if he doesn't get a sack this year he's worth the double-teams. Arrington is wrong. Big Al is dedicated to having a great year. After last season, he immediately hired a personal trainer so he could get in shape for this year. Why is that a bad thing? Maybe the coaches last year were really really bad and he'd rather do it himself. Isn't it worth to ask yourself why the entire strength and conditioning staff were fired? For this one time Arrington, JUST SHUT UP. You were dead-on with Portis, but not Haynesworth. The guy is TALENTED even at his lowest, out-of-breath level.

LaVar is on point. I've always been a fan of his and it shows that he has matured cuz he was known for wantin to do his own thing and not playing well with others. But can u really be mad at Fat Albert??? He's always been lazy, he's always been outta shape and he always complains when things don't go his way...a fat, lazy spoiled kid...but who, knowing all this, decided to make him one of the the highest paid defensive players ever??? Yeah that fool Dan Snyder!!! He's done this in the past the idiot never learns...I blame Snyder. Albert is gonna play when he wants, get richer and fatter and soon he'll be set for life thanks to our dumba$$ owner...not a bad deal if u ask me.

For those trying to call out LA...he may not have lasted in the league as long as we would have liked, but that doesn't mean his perspective is off. The key is how his teammates view him. 90% of life is showing up. AH isn't and that speaks volumes as to his priorities and to him as a person.

"I've looked at your Wikipedia page." ~ The Great LA!

I'll tell you what JohninMpls. I used to love watchin LA play when he was with the team. He was my favorite player for the whole time he was in Washington. That dude played with heart and he punished people on the field. So I would say his accolades are pretty good from a fan standpoint. Not to mention all the things he's done for the community around here. Even after he went to New York. He's been a loyal Redskins fan even after being put through the ringer by Dan "Deep Pockets" Snyder. What has Fat Albert done besides soak up some doller bills and some grazy on his biscuit? NOTHING! You must be Haynesworth's cousin or something....coming on here and defending that man while tryin to put down LA. Make no mistake about it. True redskins fans respect Arrington and what he's done here. So keep that pie hole shut ya rotten Cowboys fan.

Posted by: burke_jack | March 26, 2010 4:41 PM | Report abuse

First and foremost- both Lavar and Albert Haynesworth are assets to the Redskins. I don't blame Lavar for his angering rage on Haynesworth. Seriously, I thought it was out of love for Haynesworth despite its saltiness.

I believe Lavar is reaching out to Haynesworth because he sees his potential of what he can do to help the Washington Redskins. I just hope that Albert Haynesworth does change his mind because Redskins fans deserve more from him since he donned the uniform to become one of the true "Ambassadors" to represent this great city of Washington,Maryland, and Virginia.

I hope this finds any Redskin player that feels that they half step into the season and cheat the fans, season-ticket holders, and Redskin Nation out of the victory that we desperately have waited on far too long.

My belief is that the Redskins will conquer this year if they focus on the habits that made them go 4-12 last year. Peace.

Posted by: ChristopherHawthorne | March 26, 2010 6:07 PM | Report abuse

The Skins are taking a gamble by taking a 4-3 defense into a 3-4. Why, do you ask? What the heck is going on with coaching staff? Haynesworth is not a nosetackle. Why make him one? Haynesworth wants to workout with his personal trainer, then so be it. As long as he is in great shape and produces on the field then I have no problem with that. Lavar needs to shut the F up. He was a freaking diva when played here. Haynesworth is a Beast. He will produce. The Skins will keep him. Skins are to be blamed for this mess. They should of sat down with best defensive player and explained his role in the 3-4 defense. Haynesworth is no angel, He's a Demon. We need a Demon on the defense to create havoic and mayhem. Anyone that says he is bust does not know real football. Orapo and Carter would never had double digit sacks if it were not for Haynesworth. Everyone needs to back off and give the man his space. When the season starts he will be ready.
