Wale in the black and red

I fully expect before the year is up, Wale will have been photographed with every current, former and future professional athlete in D.C. sports history.

Having already performed at a Redskins game, visited Redskins Park, been photographed with DeAngelo Hall and Rocky McIntosh, visited a Caps game, been photographed with Mike Green and Alex Ovechkin and Ted Leonsis, worn a Nats hat on national television, and praised D.C. sports on various ESPN programs, Wale took his act to the D.C. United training pitch Wednesday morning, where he posed with the squad.

I'd have liked to see "Wale Ovechkin" on the back of this kit, but it's still a nice looking shot. Remember, he's performing at United's season opener on April 3, which no longer will be marred by strike talk.

The United's opener with Wale pre-game v. possibly Strasburg's DC debut, tough call.

Wale!!! Unfortunately, tix are already in hand for the Strasburg possibility. I will have to content myself with attending his 9:30 Club show the next day.

@PowerBoater69:

Straight off the clubs website-
Broadcasting and P.A. Request: When speaking of the organization, please refer to the team as either “D.C. United” or “United,” but not “the D.C. United” or “the United.” We appreciate your cooperation.

Just curious if your "Insider" friend who gave you all the hot gossip on the strike laughs behind your back at your ever inflating BLOCK HEAD.

Strasburg won't be throwing in the exhibition game next weekend. He's already been reassigned to minor league camp. That was only a rumor based on his rotation in the Grapefruit League. Even if he did pitch, you could watch him throw his innings (4pm) and still make it to RFK for the pregame.

Oh @DadRyan, calling DC "The" United is PowerBoater's thing. It's what he does. Kinda like the way Republican politicians and pundits like to call the Democratic Party the "Democrat" Party. It's childish, but after awhile, you not only expect it, you'd kind of miss it if they stopped.

i like the irony of the photo in that the club hasnt actually tried to sign a "#10" this offseason.
