Alex Ovechkin with a sheep
In the grand tradition of Andrei Kirilenko with a pig, here's Alex Ovechkin with a sheep. No, not a demonic sheep. The image comes via a typically amazing Ovechkin-family-in-Russian interview, translated by Alex Ovejtkin.
The interview reveals, via Ovechkin's father, that the family received a gift of a sheep, and took it to the dacha outside of Moscow, because where the heck else would one take a sheep that was received as a present.
The sheep's name is "Byasha," which I accidentally thought said "Bylsma" at first glance. You have to admit there's some resemblance.
As for Alex, he said that his "troika" with Alexander Semin and Sergei Fedorov has been reunited. Surely I'm not the only one who immediately imagined the madly galloping troika of Dead Souls and the Brothers Karamazov here. That's not a bad metaphor for the Caps, actually, if I'm remembering it correctly. But it's not as cool as a sheep

This was an interview from last year. It's appropriate that the sheep resides at the dacha of a family whose surname means "sheep".
BTW, Troika is also a Russian word.

They certainly seem to be talking about this year (the Olympics, playoff disappointment, reunion with Federov). But you know, there could have been another name or two in the picture caption.

So the blonde is definitely photoshopped in. She has no hand or body! Plus, she's looking down when the sheep is behind her.
