Andray Blatche's reaction to the lottery win

"In my mind, I was like, 'No way we're gonna get it, no way we're gonna get it, I'm just gonna watch and see,' " Andray Blatche told reporters last week, describing his preparation for the draft lottery. "Once I seen it, my jaw dropped like...." he said, and did the above. "My jaw dropped like...." he said, and did the below.

"Aw man," he concluded.

Agreed, Andray, agreed. Would that The Post had 999 cameras trained on 999 Wizards fans, employees, ex-coaches, mascots, beat writers and deranged Finnish bloggers. I think you'd have seen this expression times 999.

"It's a blessing, man," he said. "I believe in everything that Mrs. Pollin said. Her husband was looking down and gave us a blessing, gave us a gift, and hopefully we can make the best out of it and do some big things next year."

And what will the arrival of a new star mean for this city?

"Number one most important thing is this is the biggest thing for our fans," Blatche said. "This is the biggest thing we could give them after the last two seasons we had. I'm quite sure they're gonna come back out for us and support us more. And hopefully we can get just get back to being a winning team and give the fans something to look forward to."

It's good to see him excited about something that is good for the team. I know Wilbon says a lot of guys consider him a knucklehead but at least he's showing interest in something other than himself.

I hope this kid fixes his mental state so that 'mercurial' label can be off him. Dude is talented and his talent should speak louder than it has.

I thought that photo of the shock on his face was when he found out just how much it cost for a hooker in DC now-a-days, especially when that hooker is an undercover cop.

If the comments above are from fans, I'd hate to see stuff from the haters.
