How big is LaRon Landry?
(By John McDonnell - TWP)
This is LaRon Landry in April. As previously noted, he said at the time that he was trying to get to 240 pounds, and that he might be playing some linebacker this season. Later, he said the linebacker part wasn't correct.
Anyhow, Landry's size continues to fascinate, and so trusted colleague Paul Tenorio passed along this dialog from last week's minicamp.
Reporter: "How much do you weigh right now?"
Landry: "Question mark."
(Editor's note: Yes, he actually said "Question mark." Not sure if I should have put "question mark," or "?", but that's what he said.)
Landry (walking away): "When I step on the scale, it says too big."
(Or possibly "2BIG," I suppose. Your choice.)

As XCountry says above, I think LB is more suited for Laron.
I thought that guy was HUGE last year, I can only imagine this year.

Wouldn't that be like 281.6 (2BI.G)? That IS too big!

maybe his goal is to get so big, that when WRs beat him deep, they at least have to run around him...

LaRon has virtually no man-to-man coverage skills, so bulking up and playing in the box is awesome, and playing to his strengths. That said, I think LaRon accidently let it slip that he'll be playing some LB and after hearing something about it behind the scenes from Haslett said that he won't be. Let's hope he does. I'd love to see his speed coming off the edge.
