Andre Carter to Haynesworth: "Leave the BS at the door"

It occurs to me that I'm falling well off the pace in my goal to reach 1,000 Haynesworth posts by Sept. 12. Got to step things up. Andre Carter, any thoughts?

"I haven't experienced a player prioritizing his position on the field over working with the game. It's disappointing because Albert could fit in this scheme. All we can say is we wish him the best and we will see what happens in a month. He made his statement that he didn't want to play in this scheme and we are not going to force him to play. He's a grown man. We have moved forward."

Carter recently spoke with TheHogs.net about these issues, saying Haynesworth would have to "leave the BS at the door" to be welcomed back in Ashburn, and that "negativity around positive and optimistic people won't work." And so how should the fans greet Haynesworth if he in fact shows up for training camp?

"I can't really say how they should react. All I know is I have met random fans and they are PO'd about Big Al so I wouldn't be shocked if they took those emotions to our open practices."

Yeah, come to think of it, he's probably right. I guess I know what I'll be writing on July 29. There are also interview outtakes, in which Carter was asked about the issue of Haynesworth switching positions in a new defensive scheme. He described said situation as "a small mosquito bite. It's harmless."

Well, thank heavens not everyone shares your opinion, Andre. I couldn't write 1,000 blog posts about mosquito bites.

Does anyone besides me remember Big Al talking about being remembered as one of the greatest defensive linemen ever the day he signed here? Or about his name being mentioned in the same breath as Reggie White's? Seems to me he's not going to accomplish anything like that with his current shennanigans!

Can anyone tell me what has Andre Carter done to help this team win? Too many players on this team want to throw rocks in a glass house and have never stepped up. Usually, it's the ones who want to criticize others and not themselves.

Albert is such a prick. How much money and how many teammates does it take motivate him unless of course he's just in it for himself and could care less. All this bc they're asking him to take double teams 6 inches away from where he usually does? Unbelievable.

Ktaylor can you tell me what Andre has done to help this team lose? There's a laundry list for Haynesworth right now but if you want to continue on with your strawman argument you can find an audience on the SS Haynesworth sailing towards Bermuda.

HAYNESWORTH REPORTEDLY SIGHTED IN TENNESSEE, MAY BE HEADING NORTHEAST

NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville area motorists are reporting several sightings of a specially configured armored truck that is said to be rolling up and down the interstate highways, possibly heading northeast.

According to a Tennessee State Police report, the truck -- described as a burgundy and gold Brinks security van with oversized tires and gold rims -- is being driven by some barely dressed and heavily tattooed “working girls” who keep taking their tops off for a heavy-set character sitting in the back who keeps stuffing dollar bills into their garter belts and g-strings.

Motorists with small children are being warned to beware of getting too close to the sides of the truck, because their children might be able to look through the windows and see some of the odd goings on inside the truck – which is said to resemble the “VIP lounge” of a seedy strip joint, complete with mystery-stained couches, stripper poles, champagne bottles, garish lights and loud music.

The outside of the truck is reportedly festooned with several signs, including “Wide Load” on the front and back, and “Hey-Hey Hay(nesworth),” “FU-Skins,” and “Ashburn or Bust” on the sides.

This is leading some to speculate that Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth may actually be planning to attend the Redskins training camp that starts later this month in Ashburn, VA.

One report recently placed the truck at the drive through window of a McDonalds restaurant on the outskirts of Nashville, where it reportedly ordered two-dozen Angus Beef and Bacon sandwiches with extra cheese, 21 supersized orders of French fries, four-dozen apple pies, and single Diet Coke.

Said a knowledgeable source, “It sounds like Albert is really getting down to business. He would never have ordered the Diet Coke if he wasn’t serious about getting into shape for the upcoming season.”

How stupid can you be to post a comment like this? This guy is a negative cancer on a team that is trying to change the culture of losing and you question a model teammate that is saying AH has to be a positive member of this team to be welcomed back? You sir are an idiot!

ktaylor--are you kidding me?

1. What has Andre Carter done? How about 11 sacks last year--that's a decent contribution.

2. Some like to throw rocks? The rock thrower in this case is Fat Albert. He's the guy criticizing his defensive coordinator during the season, he's the guy saying that the team was dishonest with him, he's the guy saying that he wants out of Washington. He's the guy throwing rocks. Carter, who looked bad in a 3-4 previously instead is getting with the program, attending OTA's and voluntary ones, working out and saying that the switch to a new scheme is no big deal. Is that your definition of "throwing rocks"?

Posted by: JoeW1 | July 1, 2010 2:51 PM | Report abuse

C'mon Albert. Get to camp and play some ball. We can move on without you but we definitely could use you. And you aint getting traded or you would have been by now so get in shape and show up ready to work. They did pay you you know.

Hey ktaylor dumb ass, Carter had a double digit sack season last year AND he's moving to outside LB this year. I'm sure moving positions was not his choice but, he's a TEAM player. Carter also did this without cashing a big ass bonus check in the offseason!

ktaylor15 are you serious?! Who had 11 sacks last season? Who was in the top 5 in tackles for this team last year? Who isn't overweight and walking off the field because he is tired? Carter! What have YOU done to help this team win? You feel fine throwing these rocks at the players who put in the work and practice in the heat yet you feel they should keep their mouths shut when an actual teammate decides to stay away from the team that made him the highest paid D player in history? Carter plays football like a man,Haynesworth finds reasons not to like a child.

ktaylor, Andre Carter had a sick year last year (11 sacks), and he seems to be one of the veterans on our squad who has his head screwed on somewhat properly. You're not that smart, bro.

ok...i absolutely HATE what Big Al been doing since the day he arrived really...BUT, if he dawns the burgundy and gold and steps out on that field, all my inner super-fan won't allow me to put down or boo anybody who puts on that uniform! i will be the first person cheering him and this team on! because we will need the best possible players we have in order to get over the hump and win some games. and as long as he changes his attitude towards the game, then i have no problem with dude.

with all he's been though off the field, no wonder this dude is a basket case! i think he just needs a damn hug!!! lol...all of redskin fans need to get off OUR own high horse and stop being so damn judgemental!!!!! they are simply football players...this is NOT a life or death surgeon here folks...sheez! i wish people would just chill out and just be a damn fan of a football team and stop getting so damn intimately involved in its financial/personnel affairs...show up on Sunday and cheer your ass off and then go back home to our miserable, non-100 million-a-year lives and let them do them...peace

Hmm the last time I checked Andre Carter and Orakpo both had 11 sacks because of Big Al in the middle. If we check the stats, when Al was out they had a total of 3 sacks combined. Al is wrong for not being there and working on this new defense, but Carter would not have had the year he had if it were not for Al. 4 wins is what the Redskins had last year so that is what Andre, Orakpo and Al did to help this team win. 4 Wins only!!!!

what is the big deal about Tubby? Who cares, they were 4-12 and literally are still ranked in the bottom 1/3 of the league by every analyst alive that isn't bag slapping McNabb on the air. They are at best 6-10 this year if the beat bum street St. Louis, Tampa and Detroit. We only worship a uniform in DC and don't care who plays as evidenced by bringing worn out McNabb here and any other once good player who will steal a check. Shut the whole thing down and wait for womens tennis.

It wasn't the defense that caused us to go 4 & 12 last year, it was the QB we shipped off to Oakland and the stiffs on the O-line that caused the 4&12 season. The Skins will be much improved this year, with or without Buttersworth.

Posted by: unquiltom | July 2, 2010 1:26 AM | Report abuse

Libra3419: Orakpo and Carter had 11 sacks apiece because of Fat Albert? Their own talent had nothing to do with those 22 sacks? What about the defensive scheme? He was in the middle of a lot of lines in Tennessee that never had two guys with 11 sacks apiece. He's big, strong and talented, but also a selfish and self-absorbed egomaniac. He'll never be mentioned in the same breath with the Reggie Whites of the world, because in addition to his otherworldly talent, White also was a top-tier teammate — a term Fat Albert never will understand. If, in fact, Shanahan knows what he's doing in building a team, Haynesworth needs to go immediately. At this point, the Skins should take the best offer and get his lazy carcass out of town.

Your the Idoit! How many sacks did the Skins get the year before Albert came to the team?
He by him self had four and because of him 11 other sack happen for carter compared to his 4 the yr before.
Andre Carter for me has been a disappointment and he wants to open his mouth about another because some uninformed fans are talking crap.
40 sacks compared to 24 the year before.
You want to blame somebody look at the OWNER!
Put down the beer and watch the game i promise it will look different!
