John Wall's underhanded three-point shot

In my final newspaper story from Vegas, I mentioned that John Wall had earned some oohs at Cox Pavilion for draining a one-handed underhanded three-pointer from the sidelines before the team's final Summer League game. Luckily for all of us, FanHouse's Elie Seckbach got video of the shot, which most of the people in the gym -- including me -- seemed to have missed. Here it is.

In the recent annals of pre-game NBA trick shots, this probably doesn't crack the top 50. But when Wall shows up in street clothes and still manages to have the highlight of the night, it's worth noting.

Also, Wall was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Summer League on Sunday after averaging 23.5 points and 7.8 assists. JaVale McGee also made the 14-man all-tournament team.

LeBron James throws out the ball before every game by shooting underhanded shots from the halfcourt line. And he occasionally makes them.

Dan was sent out to Vegas to cover the second half of Summer League in Mike Lee's place. He's, in effect, been the Wiz beat writer during that spell. Amazingly, he's reported his findings on his humorous blog, which is provided to you at no charge.
