Wizards appear to tweak their uniforms

I'm not nearly enough of a uniform savant to have noticed this on my own, but former Washington Times Wizards beat writer Mike Jones pointed out that the Wiz appear to have made some minor tweaks to their uniforms. Nothing to satisfy the teeming masses yearning for a real break from the past, but enough to merit some side-by-side images, anyhow.
John Wall did several appearances Tuesday as part of the rookie symposium, and he wore a road jersey for those appearances. As Jones noted at TBD, the jersey appears to have a v-neck and some faint stripes, while Wall's name appears in white on the back, instead of gold as in past seasons. Jones also sees yellow trim rather than gold, and it sure looks to be a slightly different shade of blue, but that might be a function of the different sources of these images. Obviously this will update with a comment from Wizards PR department during normal work hours.
UPDATE: A Wizards spokesman told me that all these changes came from Adidas and the NBA, which altered the uniform material for next season. The "stripes" aren't really stripes, but are merely part of this new fabric.
UPDATE II: Ted Leonsis addressed the changes in his blog:
These slight tweaks to the Wizards uniforms were in the works for a long time by the team and the league well before we closed on our deal.
They aren't much - some new materials mostly to be more streamlined and lighter and to look sleeker. I like the modifications. There are no new colors or new designs yet. As noted, it takes years to make big changes to the uniforms.
In the meantime, you can examine the road jersey here.

Looking at closer pics of the NBA rookie photo shoot it also appears that every team in the NBA is wearing a lighter jersey material with little dots on the chest area that adidas will no doubt claim improves athletic performance.

If you want different colors then fine. However, not red, white, and blue! The Capitals and Nationals already use that color scheme. Does DC really want to become a city where only United and the Redskins don't wear red, white, and blue? How about going really old school and wearing the original colors. Now that would be thinking outside the box.

Ditch "wizards" and that awful color scheme - go back to "bullets" and red/white/blue. And yes, ALL DC teams (incl. skins) should utilize the same colors (Nats need to ditch that gold trim on their unis too)

Pittsburgh may be a lame city but they have some unified fans which we could use around here. Red White and Blue Bullets.

Ted........
Please bring back the BULLETS name and uniforms! Never liked the Wizards name and the uniforms are only so so looking. And the gold one they wear is ugly. And don't let the Arenas gun incident or any other type of political correctness get in the way. It is just a name. A cool name and a name with some tradition and history. A much better history since the name was changed to Wizards.

Worrying about the V neck on the Wizards' uniforms is akin to worrying about the color of the deck chairs on the Titanic. Until Ernie and Flipper are gone, this franchise will be a sinking ship.

...and can someone please ask Teddy L to take the time to find a way to reach out to Carmelo to encourage him to explore ALL of his options before deciding he ONLY wants to be Knick. (Yes, I AM asking for tampering, grow up).

I disagree with the person who said that the Skins' and all DC team colors should be R-W-B. I wouldn't want the Bullets to use RWB, either, but the current color is kinda punkish, in my opinion.

Finally V-Necks after being one of the last teams still wearing 80's unis.
Thanks Teddy-L - the make-over has begun!
