Chick Hernandez gets benched

Remember during the Haynesworth Conditioning Test hysteria, when every media organization in America trotted out a reporter to take the shuttle run? Next up could be the "Benched With Two Minutes Left" mania.

"Idea I wish I thought of earlier: Yanking [Mike Jones] with 2 minutes left in the chat in favor of non-football writer. Missed opportunity," TBD's Daniel Victor wrote on Monday.

Comcast SportsNet actually followed through with the gimmick, pulling Chick Hernandez from its night highlight show in favor of Michael Jenkins, which I suppose makes Jenkins the Rex Grossman of this scenario. Sorry Jenks. Chick then paced the set and the control room in his backwards baseball hat.

And remember, we're only on Day 2 of this bye week.
