LaRon Landry has an Irish potatoe on his shoulder

By Dan Steinberg

Just FYI, if you aren't on Twitter or you don't follow LaRon Landry, I thought you might want to know that he has an even bigger potato on his shoulder than before. Oh, and that it's possibly green. From Thursday morning:

Gm World!!!! Fresh out anesthesia and surgery!!!! And when I land str8 to the grind (gym)...Gone but not forgotten, this is just the stepping stone for my phenomenal offseason and a bigger Irish potatoe on my shoulder for next season...eeeeewweew!!!! Let's get it!!!

Near as Google can tell, this is the first time anyone in world history has claimed to have an even bigger Irish potatoe (or potato) on his or her shoulder.

(And yes, this is clearly a reference to his much-discussed "Meat and Potatoes" slogan.)

UPDATE: A Redskins spokesman said that Landry had a non-surgical "shockwave" procedure performed on his injured Achiiles' tendon, meant to increase blood flow to the area. He's expected to be need 12 weeks to recover.

Please be more culturally sensitive. 'Potatoe' is Ebonics for potato.

It was definitely moronic vice-presidential for potato before anything else, philarmy, you racist.

Are you referring to Joe Biden?

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Joe Biden, January 2007. Commenting on Barack Obama.

Quayle was actually a pretty smart guy but got a bad rep from the press. Once they decide you're stupid, there's really nothing you can do to shake that reputation (see Sarah Palin, Gerald Ford, George W. Bush, and virtually any conservative leader not named Nixon). Quayle later said he knew the correct spelling of the word but relied on faulty cards provided by the school in that spelling bee.
