Bruce Allen on alumni and gold pants
The four best parts of the 2010 Redskins season: Beating the Cowboys, Brandon Banks with the ball in his hands, the reintegration of the Redskins alumni and the reintroduction of the gold pants. Feel free to disagree. But you'd be wrong.
There aren't a whole lot of things Larry Michael and I agree about, but we both love the alumni events and the gold pants. So when Michael sat down with Bruce Allen last week, he asked about both innovations.
"Well the alumni is special," Allen said. "The Redskins benefit from having some of the greatest characters in the history of the NFL, and to bring those type of people together, the reunion and hearing their stories, was fantastic. And I think it's important for today's players to interact more and more with the alumni, to learn the values that they have, that built this great game, that they're benefiting from.
"As far as the gold pants, we got a nice response from that. I think those uniforms look special."
No word on the future. But you don't ditch something that's "special," right?
