Haynesworth stars in Redskins' 2011 calendar

By Dan Steinberg

This isn't about the Redskins. This is about a wall calendar for sale at bookstores and calendar Web sites and newsstands, a calendar that you yourself may have seen packaged underneath your Christmas true or Hanukkah dining room table.

And if so, maybe you put that calendar up on Saturday afternoon and flipped it to January and got to ring in the New Year with one of the most popular Redskins of all times. If so, congratulations to you. What was it Haynesworth said when he returned to the team facility on Monday? Oh yeah, "I've got nothing to say."

(If it makes you feel better, Clinton Portis is the calendar's cover boy.)

Maybe that's why the online team store is only offering the cheerleaders calendar. You figure October model Lindsey M. isn't going anywhere. Now, Lindsay A., who knows?

I found one copy of this calendar last night in the team store at FedEx and put it down right when I saw Big Al. Curious as to when that magazine went into production.

Dan, your headline made me laugh, at first, at Snyder's ineptitude. But it is sad that my team is continually a laughingstock...

at least he's still technically on the Redskins.

Isn't that the run against the falcons that left Portis concussed?

Lindsay A. just isn't a good fit for our scheme, it will be sad to see her go but sometimes new regimes mean new cheerleaders

Posted by: pofinpa | January 3, 2011 3:58 PM | Report abuse

Don't see McNabb in any of the pictures. Hmmm.

Disgusting!! What a waste....

The calendar should be all Brandon Banks, all the time! Field position, baby!

Posted by: positiveforce | January 3, 2011 4:29 PM | Report abuse

Snyder is such a money grubbing little snit. This embarrassment confirms it.

I swear...if this Haynesworth thing is not resoved by the end of the draft I will not be rooting for the Redskins anymore. I've had it with this sorry organization...mostly with the arrogant jerk at the top. Snyder needs to go...he is the WORST owner in professional sports. This is a joke.

Check out the replica jerseys on the Redskins' site -- Haynesworth's has been discounted from $80 to $39.95, the only one with a price reduction.

I also was a little startled at the headline ... but then quite relieved to see that Haynesworth is not featured in a thong.

What's to resolve? The guy is not going to be playing on the team anymore. He remains under contract and will hold a roster spot unless and until he agrees to a discount on his contract allowing his release. Same thing as Archuleta. He has to pay to be allowed to leave, but he'll never be allowed to suit up again.

Is Jason Campbell in there too?

Posted by: ozpunk | January 3, 2011 4:54 PM | Report abuse

I have owned these in past seasons, in the 3-4 I have had since 2000, every year there are at least 3 players no longer on the team in the calender. The job is obviously outsourced to china or somewhere.

Can I name 12 players that will probably be part of the team next year that people will remember?

LaRon Landry
Brian Orakpo
Brandon Banks
Anthony Armstrong
D'Angelo Hall
Trent Edwards
London Fletcher
Chris Cooley
Fred Davis
Mike Sellers

I'm still 2 short.

Those all look like 2009 game photos, I guess they wanted it out in 2010 but then they realized they forgot to get it printed for 2010, so they trotted it out for 2011 instead. (G)

Posted by: bbmcoachk | January 3, 2011 6:36 PM | Report abuse is becoming apparent that there is some curse of Danny's own making on his ownership of the Redskins. Nothing goes right (often through his meddling but sometimes just because of the chaos his meddling creates.)

Sell the team, Snyder. I do not believe you are ever going to have success with the Redskins and will wind up a pariah in DC.

Posted by: BlanketyBlank | January 3, 2011 7:06 PM | Report abuse

You just can't make this stuff up! When it comes to comic relief, the Washington Redskins are the gift that keeps on giving!

Thanks Dan Snyder for another year, can't wait to see what else 2011 brings :-)

That G-dammmm Danny, always efffing up sheeet. Danny gots to go!!!! and take Hanney with you, you both make a pair.

Posted by: lyhanley | January 3, 2011 9:39 PM | Report abuse

Don't worry, the 2025 calender will have a picture of Haynesworth dying at age 45 from diabetes.

Posted by: kenk33 | January 3, 2011 10:12 PM | Report abuse

With all the folks on here constantly telling Danny to "sell the team," I doubt if he ever reads these blogs or bogs (or whatever they're called). The bigger question is, does he ever have encounters with fans on a day-to-day basis who tell him to "sell the team" to his face? Does he actually hear these requests? If it was Ted Leonsis we were asking to sell the Caps, he would see it in his e-mail. But, Dan must be like George W. Bush--he doesn't surf The Internets or use The Google.

You just gotta know that the 2012 calanders (with McNabb featured on the front cover and Gano as Mr. December) are already printed up and sitting in boxes in Dan Snyders garage right now.

Too funny!

Here is how I will always remember Haynesworth... laying on his fat belly in the backfield during the middle of a play.

I think we need to be patient with Lindsay A. - after all, it can take 2-3 seasons to truly install a new system.
